"Iron Mountain" portrays the legend of the Erzberg in Austria in an impressive musical manner. At the beginning, the atmosphere of the cave where the Waterman resides comes to life through simulated water droplets. The Waterman is pursued and captured by humans. In his desperation, he pleads for freedom and presents an offer to the people: gold mines for a year, silver mines for ten years, or iron mines forever. The clear response from the people is iron forever. The composition's finale emphasizes this choice with impactful anvil strikes, and the Erzberg rises triumphantly to the forefront of the narrative.

Neil Diamond wrote his Crunchy Granola Suite when he moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s and got to know macrobiotic granola as part of a health-conscious lifestyle. The lyrics of this cheerful song even suggest that eating granola might just be more wholesome than a visit to a psychologist... The song became even better known when the renowned Percy Faith Orchestra turned it into an instrumental version. It was the tune of a number of radio shows, and for good reason. Concordia was the Roman goddess of concord or unity. To convey the unity among their musicians, many music societies over the years, including the band that commissioned this composition, have chosen this name. The literal translation of Color Concordia is color harmony. Consequently, the composer has gratefully used the many ranges of coloring of the concert band for the instrumentation of this work. He based the thematic material on the four note names in Concordia: C, C, D and A, resulting in a brilliant piece of music that will suit any band.

The myth of El Dorado ("the golden one") stems from the story of a powerful chief who used to cover himself with gold dust before bathing in a sacred lake where he threw precious objects as offerings to the gods. The myth was soon relayed to the Spanish conquistadors and inspired many expeditions, although the invaders didn't bring back nearly as much gold as they expected, if any at all. Eldorado is a mysterious and dynamic work that illustrates the myth of the golden man and the European expeditions that followed. With a touch of exotic influences, the music is varied and rich. This piece was commissioned by the French Cultural Association Lille 3000 as part of theirEldorado-themed festival in 2019.

The Norwegian vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jan Eggum is regarded as one of our most important musicians in the Norwegian folk art and popular music. He recorded his debut album "Jan Eggum" in 1975 and is since then recognized as a "cheerful melancholic". This medley include three of his best and most famous songs: De skulle begrave en konge stor (1979), Mor jeg vil tilbake (1990) and P'an igjen (1997). This arrangement was commissioned by Jernbanens Musikkorps in Oslo with support from NOPA (Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists). The durata of this arrangement is approx. 8 minutes. For a shorter version, it's facilliated to omit one orseveral repeats.

When selecting repertoire for your Christmas concert, it's difficult to find new arrangements that are both challenging and fun to work on, as well as fun for the audience. Crazy For Christmas is one of those pieces by the Belgian composer Bert Appermont. He uses canons and even fugues throughout this arrangement and foresees a spectacular ending. It is based on Il est n le divin Enfant and Away in a Manger but refers wittily to JingleBells, Deck the Halls, The Twelve Days of Christmas and Hark, the Herald Angels Sing. So 'crazy' all the way!

Nikola Tesla was one of historys greatest inventors. Teslas Dream begins with a soft, contemplative flute solo, backed by gentle mallet percussion as though we are witness to his "lucid dreaming," which he believed was the source of his most creative ideas. This theme is repeated, growing to a full ensemble impact which represents the moment of creation and inspiration coming to fruition. The music then becomes faster, with strong Eastern European overtones that reflect his Serbian heritage. The initial tranquil flute melody gradually transforms into a frenetic dance, symbolizing Teslas many wide-swinging moods and colorful eccentricities.
