Montana Fanfare (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

This piece was composed as a birthday present for the Austrian conductor Walter Rescheneder to acknowledge the strong support he has given to the composer, Thomas Doss. Doss drew the inspiration for this fanfare from a mountain hike in the Salzkammergut. A powerful fanfare reveals enthusiasm and triumph. It is an exulting feeling and gives boundless freedom to look down into the depths from high up giving a view of the stunning landscape. The main melodic theme represents the feeling of vastness one experiences by taking just one quick glance into the distance. A musical treat! 03:50

The Secret of Mercury - Jan de Haan

This work was commissioned by the concert band Da Capo Leeuwarden from the Netherlands, which was linked with the Dutch postal service PTT up until 1995. Yet the composer did not choose the god but the planet Mercury as his source of inspiration for this work in four uninterrupted movements. He created a multifaceted work in which the mysterious celestial body is represented, as well as a number of space missions exploring it. Dublin Pictures - Marc Jeanbourquin

Ireland is a multi-faceted country that has developed a popular and distinctive musical culture. The first movement of Dublin Pictures reflects Irish festivals where there is dancing and traditional beer flowing. More tranquil in its feel, the second movement illustrates the landscape that can be seen from the Ha'penny Bridge, a bridge that crosses the River Liffey in Dublin. This movement highlights the wide range of the orchestra's sound colours as the musicians' voices combine with the wind and percussion to accompany the soloist. The lively and joyful rhythms of the last movement take the listener to Temple Bar, the famous tourist quarter of the city, well knownfor its vibrant nightlife. The music's energy and virtuosic motifs are in contrast to the previous movement and provide a spirited and festive finale.Marc Jeanbourquin wrote this piece in three movements for Azimuts Brass in 2011. He then arranged it for Concert, Fanfare or Brass Band
