This song has three stanzas and describes the modest though grateful family life of the infant Jesus with his parents Mary and Joseph. The choral melody is four-part and can be performed harmoniously by a quartet. The score has however been arranged for large orchestra. So, it is possible to realize the most varied sound combinations between woodwind and brass groups, even without singing. All percussion instruments can be used 'ad libitum'. The text can be sung as four-part choir singing or by one solo voice with accompaniment of winds. A simple piano score has been added for singing rehearsals or small scale performances.

At the recording sessions for his album 'Disco Baby' (1975) Van McCoy had one extra hour of studio time left and so he wrote 'The Hustle' in a hurry, as a well-known New York disc jockey had told McCoy about a new dance rage. Contrary to McCoy's expectations, this song became a real hit and even a number one hit in the States. In 1976, the song was awarded a Grammy as Best Pop Instrumental Performance.

The title 'Dis-TENSIONS-diS' is a game (or pun) with the words tension and distension (relaxation). The work stems from a 'Leitmotiv' presented at the beginning of the work by the warm sound of the bassoon. So from this melody draws all small parts for maximum re-use like elements of cohesion in different parts of the work. Hence the inevitable game of 'tension and relaxation' that occurs from such re-use of the same subject, but with a multitude of possible variations. Dis-TENSIONS-diS received a Mencion de Honor at the Italian Concorso Internazionale di Composizione originale per banda 2009.

Back to Normandy is a composition for concert band on the occasion of D-Day. On D-Day (June 6, 1944) the liberation of Western Europe started at the beach of Normandy. A long campaign through Europe followed before the liberation was complete. Back to Normandy describes the first hours of the landing with the shelling of the German positions as a (musical) peak. As an introduction you will see and hear de preperations for the biggest campaign ever. Very special and unique is the fact that the music of Back to Normandy can be performed synchronously with a movie with original footage, specially made for this composition. This will without a doubt be an extra experience for the audience. So far performances like this were exclusively for professional orchestras (like George Fenton, Earth). This piece is specially suitable for concert bands that want to offer their audience something special and also want to honour the liberators. The movie to practise for the concert is on Youtube (meassures and metronome are visible/audiblematen). Days Remembered was written for the High School Band, located in Kitakyushu city, Fukuoka Japan, in celebration of 30th anniversary of their annual concert. The premiere was held on March 21, 2015 at the Yahata Citizen Hall conducted by Mr. Tetsuro Nakanishi, director. In Japan, fiscal year starts in April and ends in March; students graduate in March. So director requested him to compose lyrical piece which can be used at ceremony, such as graduation and entrance ceremonies.

Alone in the nest, a young fledgling bathes in the morning Spring sun. As he approaches the edge of the nest, a gentle breeze warms his feathers. He spreads his wings wide open and the wind starts to pick up, almost like an invitation. He stops and looks into the distant blue sky. Up there his siblings seem to be having so much fun and after months of imagining what it would be like to fly, he finally jumps! He's a fledgling no more. Now he's a falcon.

This melodious march is of Danish origin. Ricard Lindebro (1903-1972) was a musical police officer. He was a pioneer in teaching traffic safety to children and had two radio programs about children and traffic at the danish Radio. He was also a drummer an a pianist and wrote five marches, among which 'Amalienborg' and 'Dansk Politis Honnormarch'. His popular march 'Diciplin' (1928) got famous in several European countries. Gosling Mol made an arrangement for symphonic and fanfare band and so this splendid march got into the Molenaar Edition series 'Marstriomfen' (Famous Marches) as number 73.

£38.20Under the Double Eagle - J.F. Wagner
The Austrian military bandmaster Josef Franz Wagner (1856-1908) used to be called the 'Austrian March King'. He wrote some 400 compositions, 250 of which have been published. Among his well-known marches we mention 'Tiroler Holzhacker Buab'n', 'Erzherzog Johann Jodler', 'Wiener Brger', '47er Regimentsmarsch' and, of course, 'Unter dem Doppeladler' (Under the Double Eagle) opus 19. The title of this immortal march refers to the double eagle in the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian double monarchy. The march became so popular that it was recorded thrice by the Sousa-band before J.F.Wagner died at the age of 52. It became the official regimental march of the 1st Austrian Artillery Regiment Number 2.
