A magnificent major work based on the German chorale 'Was Lebet' (O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness). The piece is made up of five contrasting variations. A majestic, fanfare-like section opens the work, leading into a giocoso classical-style variation. The beautiful Variation 2 is reflective and plaintive, while the next variation is somewhat quirky and volatile in nature. There is a French romantic feel to Variation 4, with a playful waltz providing scope for various soloists around the band to display their musicianship. Variation 5 is fugal in nature, with each section of the band being handed the theme at various points. The sense of motion builds gradually to a grandiose presentation of the theme, the first time that it is heard in its full form, bringing the work to a thrilling, majestic conclusion. *Please note audio and video are of the brass band version. The piece features the signature yeti call in the trombone and horn sections, evoking the untamed wilderness and towering cliffs. Most of the notes are played in a staccato style, with a contrasting legato section in m. 21. The trombone and horn glissandi add to the chaotic, unpredictable nature of the yeti, with a sudden change to a calmer section before returning to the wild energy. This exciting and vibrant work captures the legendary creature's essence.

Insurgence - Rossano Galante
In a world where food is rationed based on wealth and status, people experiencing poverty have formed a task force to gain equality. Insurgence, by Rossano Galante, begins with a driving, rhythmic ostinato in the winds, low brass, and percussion. Soaring, aggressive horn lines take the lead in this post-apocalyptic setting. This theme is passed to the trumpets, then the winds, heralding their presence in this work. The piece transitions to a slightly lyrical section, capturing the pain and struggle these humans must endure during these challenging times. The piece recapitulates the main theme with the full ensemble, bringing this composition to a thunderous conclusion. (3:30)

Phenomenon" is a captivating piece for symphonic wind orchestra, fundamentally based on a single melodic motif while drawing inspiration from various musical genres. The motif, introduced as a horn solo at the beginning, features alternating intervals that leap both upward and downward: the perfect fourth, sixth, fifth, and second (4-6-5-2). Interestingly, this sequence of numbers corresponds to the postal code of the Austrian town of Steinerkirchen. Phenomenon" is a motivic and musical composition that captures the spirit, emotional intensity, and musicality of the remarkable phenomenon that is the music association of this town.Commissioned by the Musikverein Steinerkirchen" for the regional competition in 2022 at performance level E, this piece is dedicated to them. The music association is directed by Roland Kastner, with organizational leadership provided by Michael and Hubert Ecklbauer. Special thanks are due to these dedicated individuals, who play a significant role in promoting the remarkable phenomenon that is the Musikverein Steinerkirchen". The orchestra consists of a diverse mix of young and older amateurs, all of whom consistently achieve musical excellence through determination and ambition. Each member of this orchestra is, therefore, an integral part of this impressive phenomenon.

This work is not only about the flow of the Doubs, Ranceuse and Roide rivers that converge at Pont-de-Roide but also about the flow of life and history of this French town. The composition begins festively and, after the tempo picks up, the music smoothly and rhythmically depicts the happiness and enthusiasm of the inhabitants. The ever-flowing waters of the rivers introduce the slow, melodic middle section, which suddenly turns into traditional march music.
