He is said to have been a poor priest who healed a blind girl, and gave flowers from his garden to those who sought help and comfort. Saint Valentine's day has been celebrated in February each year since the 14th century as a day devoted to love. This work is written in the style of a chorale and has a light touch of romance! A cheerful piece full of rhythmic vitality; I wrote this shortly after completing Acentos Oscuras and it is the reverse of the style of that piece. It is fairly simple in form with just three small melodies that are each developed in form plus a central undeveloped, but quite lush, melody that is just repeated three times for the sheer joy of it. The mood of the music is very light and upbeat and is meant to capture that lovely feeling of a sunny, summer afternoon with no work and no worries!Duration: 4.58

They asked the composer to create a piece lasting approximately 11 minutes and 11 seconds. The band asked Jan Van der Roost to reflect on a number of aspects from the past, as well as the current state of affairs. The piece contains lyrical movements, cheerful and jubilant parts, as well as light introverted sequences.
