An "effets de neige," or "Snowfall effect," carries the luscious second and contrasting scene. In the 3rd and final scene, the phrases from well-known carols mergewith one another, creating the effect of "caroling." Finally, melodies serve as counterpoint for one another and bring this delightful vignette to a close.
