Wind was originally a part of a multi-movement work based on the elements of the universe. It has been re-scored and edited for symphonic band. Through this piece, the composer has tried to musically represent the many facets of wind: quiet and gentle, a wistful and mysterious breeze, the flurry of a gusting wind, and the calm, somewhat eerie feeling after a storm.Duration 3:30

Wind Chimes (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

Taking the old favorite country tune, "New River Train", Spears produces a lighthearted, exciting piece for young band. Opens with the percussion section and hand-clapping imitating an old steam engine getting underway. The band continues in a blues/gospel setting leading eventually to a country/swing section that will bring the audience to their feet.

Wind in the Reeds (Bassoon or Baritone Saxophone Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip

Wind in the Reeds was commissioned by Deena Draycott in memory of John Watson, an army bandsman, teacher and bassoonist. Wind in the Reeds is both a tribute and lasting memorial to John. The piece is largely pastoral in nature, evoking images conjured up by the 'play on words' in the title, but includes a faster central section which exploits other aspects of the character of the bassoon. Transitions between the various sections of the piece are achieved through a series of accompanied cadenzas for the soloist. Duration: 6.45

Wind Mountain Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Hodges, Steve

A strong, jubilant melody and a reflective middle section in 5/4 time highlight this exciting overture. An active percussion part drives the piece forward before settling into the minor section, where the lyrical melody is supported by an equally expressive countermelody. This section moves smoothly in 5/4, building to an effective climax before returning to the recapitulation and dynamic conclusion. Duration: 3.15
