Catalina March (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Hodges, Steve

Catalina March, an original composition by Steve Hodges, contains elements of both traditional and contemporary marches. The spirited opening theme features a playful give-and-take between the brass and the upper woodwinds. A contrasting minor trio section is presented by the clarinets, saxophones and horns before returning to a charming woodwind variation of the initial presentation. Following an effective modulation, the piece finishes with a powerful restatement of the opening theme with woodwind countermelodies complementing the strong brass and percussion. This exciting march would be an excellent way to begin a concert!Duration: 2:45

Cedar Valley March (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Hodges, Steve

This spirited march begins with a dynamic "echo" introduction that leads to the memorable main theme. All sections share the spotlight before transitioning into the contrasting B section with a minor, more lyrical theme. After an understated presentation, this section builds to a big cymbal crash that leads to a repeat of the A section. The coda features a variation of the echo introduction before ending in a dynamic fashion. The vitality of this work makes Cedar Valley March an ideal concert opener that both the band and audience will enjoy. Duration: 3.30

Funeral March Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

Robert van Beringen chose a classical theme for this funeral march. For this reason, within the trio of this melancholy piece we find echoes of Albinoni's Adagio which - according to the latest research was actually composed by his biographer Remo Giazotto. Thanks to the four-part variable instrumentation (with ad lib. drums) this funeral march can be played by pretty much any ensemble - whether at a funeral on the way from the church to the cemetery, in the church itself or indeed on stage as part of a memorial concert. 0:06:15

Triumphal March (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

The Gran Finale from the second act of Verdi's famous opera Aida, composed in 1869, is a complex part of the drama as in one single scene many different characters, allwith contrasting emotions, appear onstage at the same time. The scene opens in Ancient Egypt when the Egyptian general Radames and his troops, which have just beaten Ethiopia, come marching in. The Egyptians sing a celebration song for him and there is a sound of trumpets playing the triumphal march to receive the hero. The well-known triumphal march, transcribed in this edition for concert band by Franco Cesarini, closely follows Verdi's original score and will bring any concert to a dramatic close. 05:30

With the Greatest of Ease - James Meredith

This new march from composer James Meredith is traditional in style and is based on the famous circus tune The Man on the Flying Trapeze. It is a challenging march that can stand with the marches of Sousa and Fillmore in its quality and is fun for the band and audience. The march ends with the circus tah, dah that the circus bands use to signal the end of the act and to encourage the audience to applause. We know your audiences will enjoy this piece.
