Lincolnshire Posy, Finale from (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Grainger, Percy Aldridge - Vinson, Johnnie
The Lost Lady Found is the final, most conservative setting of Grainger's musical wildflowers masterpiece for band, Lincolnshire Posy. Developing bands can now play an ideal adaptation of this classic band repertiore. Johnnie's careful scoring eliminates some of the extreme range demands of the original, yet is extremely accurate in retaining Grainger's magnificent compositional genius throughout. This work of merit is a must for every concert band library!

The Governor's March (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Anderson, Leroy
This wonderful march comes with a remarkable history. Originally titled "Governor Bradford March," it was written for orchestra in 1948. 50 years later (1998) Tom Everett, director of the Harvard University Band, discovered Mr. Anderson's manuscript for band among some other old band arrangements! This band version was performed for the first time in 1999 and the recording was used by National Public Radio. This striking yet very playable cut-time march is an excellent addition to the repertoire of classic American marches.

Flying the Breeze (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip
The Breeze Brass Band, based in Osaka, Japan, is a professional ensemble, which was founded in 1990 to encourage the growth of brass bands there. They have invited many leading British conductors, composers and soloists to share their expertise and without doubt have been responsible, through concerts and recordings, for a huge increase in interest in brass bands in their country. In November 2000 they reached their 10th anniversary and commissioned Philip Sparke, a frequent visitor, to write a piece to celebrate the occasion. Flying the Breeze was the result and the composer made the concert band transcription in 2004.The piece opens with three repeated notes (in the brass band version these were written Bs - BBB being the band's initials) and a short introduction leads to a robust theme from the clarinets, horns and trombones, which is then taken up by trumpets. A restless bridge passage leads to a syncopated tune from the alto saxophone and then to a third theme from a solo euphonium. A graceful second subject, initially on a solo clarinet, leads back to a recall of the introductory material before a full-scale recapitulation. An intense allargando leads to a full-band version of the second subject under a running woodwind passage, which leads to a short coda.Duration: 6:00

Wilten Festival Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip
To celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Stadtmusikkapelle Wilten in Innsbruck Philip Sparke composed Wilten Festival Overture. A bold fanfare, led by the horns, forms the opening of the work from which an expressive theme unfolds until the full band reaches a climax. Short solo statements from saxophone, horn and trumpet lead to a recapitulation of this theme which melts into a rhythmic Vivo. A robust melody is is then played by the clarinets and taken up by the whole band before a legato figure leads to a cantabile theme, again presented by the clarinets. The original Vivo melody reappears before the opening fanfare is briefly heard and the work comes to an end with a short Coda. A great experience for the whole band!Duration: 8:00

The Syncopated Band Parade (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jan
The Syncopated Band Parade was written to introduce beginner players to ensemble playing as early as possible. Thanks to the low grade of difficulty of this piece this it is possible to play in a 'real band' after only a few lessons. Because of the four-part instrumentation, The Syncopated Band Parade is suitable for smaller strengths, taking into account that it is important to divide parts evenly among the players. Also includes an ad-lib keyboard/piano part to support the ensemble. Duration: 2.10
