Everything started when two Frenchmen, Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo, after having sold over ten records with their band, the Ritchie Family, decided to try out something new. The basic idea was to form a new group inspired by the American male myths of the seventies: cowboys, Indians, men in leather clothes, soldiers and policemen. This song is a great tool for introducing sixteenth notes. The sixteenth notes are group in twos or fours and the notes are repeated. There are no sixteenth note runs. Just tell the students to play four notes in one beat. It is easy, and they are not afraid of all the notes on the page. The harmonies are not typical beginning band. There is a flatted three chord giving the march an extra bit of spice. It is in ABA form and much of the sound of a more advanced march. Only the first clarinets play above the break. The first trumpet's highest note is C. This is the best selling march of Northeastern Music Publications.

Together with a funky drum beat, the Old MacDonald has never been this funky!The composer has drawn inspiration from the old nursery rhyme Old MacDonald as well as music by James Brown, Deep Purple, Seagull by Bad Lip Reading and also the old band classic, Arctic Funk by Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen. Kentucky Sunrise
A great new edition of Karl L. King's classic circus piece with a happy ragtime beat. Originally written to accompany a "trick horse" act with the Barnum & Bailey's Circus, the tune soon became so popular that it was used for a wide variety of acts including clown "walk-a-bouts". Bob Foster's arrangement retains all of the color and excitement of the original while making it playable with the modern concert band instrumentation. It's not easy, but it sure is fun!
