Creamy and Crispy Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)
This composition of Marc Cunningham has four parts, and takes place on a sunny day in a picturesque town. 1. Promenade Many people walk through the city. The band passes through the streets. People are strolling along the avenues and amorous couples are sitting on a park bench. 2. Lovey Dovey One of these couples is knee-deep in love. 3. Crispy and Creamy Here the contrasts between a crisp staccato section in two-four time signature and a smooth legato section in three-four time signature are depicted. Is Crispy the boy and Creamy the girl? 4. Farewell In the last particle the couple says goodbye. We still think back to the walk through the city. It sounds a little less happy now. Not everyone is good at saying goodbye, sometimes a tear flows. 07:45

Gaudete! Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)
Gaudete' comes from the Finnish/Swedish 'Piae Cantiones', a collection of religious music from the 16th century. The English folk group 'Steeleye Span' featuring female lead singer Maddy Prior had a hit with this song in the seventies. Peter Martin made a scintillating arrangement for wind-band. By the use of fourths and thirds in the melody the composer harks back to the period from which the song originated (The Middle Ages) 03:30

A suite in 3 parts based on the story of a young boy who was abducted by a Shawnee Indian hunting party in 1771. The first movement, "The New Frontier" is a bold and majestic section containing the patented Swearingen melodic themes which have made his music so popular. "Bring Back My Child" is a solemn section which includes some sorrowful chanting(optional) by members of the band and some very expressive solo spots for the 1st Clarinet and Flute. The third movement, "Great Chief" has a bright and rhythmic character bringing the suite to a dramatic and exciting climax.

VIEW SCORE PDF A Coventry Rhapsody is based on The Coventry Carol, which dates back to the 16th century and is one of three songs from a nativity play entitled Pageant of the Shearman and Tailors which was traditionally performed in Coventry. The carol itself depicts the Massacre of the Innocents in the nativity narrative from the Gospel of Matthew, in which King Herod, orders the execution of all baby boys under the age of two in the vicinity of Bethlehem. Snippets of the carol can be heard throughout the work in different guises. It is not until the final section that we hear the carol in all its glory. Ancient Dialogue - Patrick J. Burns
This delightful presentation is based on "Baises Moy" ("Kiss Me,") a French folk tune dating back to the fifteenth centruy. The theme moves through the band as dialogues (antiphonies) between contrsting wind groups. There's a joyful sound of Renasissance pagentry, as layers of various colors play against each other accompanied by lively percussion. A wonderful change of pace within your next performance.
