Teslas Dream begins with a soft, contemplative flute solo, backed by gentle mallet percussion as though we are witness to his "lucid dreaming," which he believed was the source of his most creative ideas. The music then becomes faster, with strong Eastern European overtones that reflect his Serbian heritage. The initial tranquil flute melody gradually transforms into a frenetic dance, symbolizing Teslas many wide-swinging moods and colorful eccentricities.
