This suite depicts various aspects of contemporary existence. First there is The Beating Heart of the City (3.20) with its clamour, jagged edges and persistent nervous energy. This is followed by an aspect of life that is timeless ?€" the vista of Clouds (3.30). This quiet and impressionistic movement is all about shapes gently forming and then merging and shifting. Finally, Coach Ride (3.06) is a manic journey on a bus (obviously not taking in the M25). This fast and furious little piece was originally written as an encore for the Buckinghamshire Symphonic Wind Ensemble. It is a romp of a coach ride during which a couple of nursery rhymes appear, including ?€The wheels on the bus go round and round?€.Duration: 10

Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky composed the ballet The Nutcracker in 1891-1892. Based on Alexandre Dumas' adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffmann's story, "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King." Before the premiere, Tchaikovsky selected eight pieces from the ballet and created The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, which became an immediate success and contains some of the most recognisable and best-loved holiday music. "Scenes from The Nutcracker" contains four numbers from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a.Duration: 5.00

Scenes of Wonder (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Williams, Mark

Scenes of Wonder by Mark Williams is a suite in three movements, each expressing the different emotions felt when visiting certain "scenes of wonder" in Europe. The first movement, "Stonehenge," with its intricate harmonies and "rock solid" style, depicts the power and mystery of the ancient stone monument. The second movement, "The Louvre", is written in an impressionistic style and features beautiful solo opportunities for trumpet, trombone and horn. The suite concludes with "Fiesta de Pamplona," a rollicking "paso doble" in 5/4 time conveying the excitement of the "runing of the bulls" in Pamplona, Spain. Duration: 6.15
