From Ancient Times - Jan Van der Roost

From Ancient Times is a major work for brass band, inspired largely by the music of the Franco-Flemish School of the Renaissance. Hints of Gregorian chant and middle age dances pay tribute to music from even earlier times. The foundation of this spectacular work rests on truly 'ancient times' while the tonal language is of a much more modern nature!

From Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell

"From Both Sides Now", written in 1967, is one of the most famous songs by Canadian singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell. A novel by Saul Bellow, "Henderson the Rain King", was her inspiration to write the song. She has recorded the song twice: first in 1969 on the album "Clouds" and again in 2000 on the album "Both Sides Now". The latest recording feature a more orchestrated, jazz-inspired version of the song. This arrangement is written in "quasi-tango" style. There are three solo-options included: Bb-Inatruments, Eb-Instruments and C-Instruments (Bass Clef).

From Crystals and Eagles - Thomas Doss

The title of this work alludes to the flight of the eagle. In the course of a short flight, the composer was able to get a birds-eye view of the landscape in which the sun's rays, glistening on the snow and ice, transformed the scenery into crystal. This unforgettable image of the breathtaking beauty of the mountains is captured in musical form in From Crystals and Eagles.

From Gold - Samuel R. Hazo

Glistening chords, soaring melodies, broad fanfares and gorgeous chorales will fill your concert hall with this evocative work. Best of all, From Gold sounds much harder than it actually is. Mr. Hazo's background as a musiceducator is evident in how quickly directors and students will get to the music making. Written entirely in B-flat with few accidentals, the runs are split between instruments for playability, and parts are doubled/cued to buildconfidence. Young bands will sound mature, and mature bands will be breathtaking. Dur: 4:35

From Maine To Oregon - John Philip Sousa

John Philip Sousa is well known throughout the world for his successes with the Sousa Band, and for writing the most popular marches ever written. Some of his marches actually were created from music originally written for an operetta, From Maine to Oregon, based on musical themes from Sousas operetta, The Glass Blower, which was renamed The American Maid. This new edition is created from the original parts as played by the Sousa Band performing under the direction of "The March King" himself.
