Feste Romane - Ottorino Respighi

Ottorino Respighi was one of the most well known Italian composersfrom the beginning of the twentieth century. His style is influencedby the French impressionists, Rimsky-Korsakov and Richard Strauss,but with his very own touch. Respighi's fame is mostly based on hisinstrumental works, especially the orchestral triptych of symphonicpoems, which included Feste Romane. This skilful adaptation forconcert band retains all the excitement of the original.

This joyful, festive march by the Belgian composer Sven Van Calster was written specially for young ensembles looking for a challenge. In Festiva, all instrument groups are featured, but the parts include sufficient doublings to cover any missing players. In a balanced concert programme, a march is, of course, an absolute must!

Festiva Jubiloso - Naoya Wada

Festiva Jubiloso' was commissioned by the Surugadai University Symphonic of the city of Saitama in Japan to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its annual concert. In the central part we can hear some solo's for tenor saxophone which however can also be played by another musical instrument (trombone or euphonium).
