This piece was commissioned in memory of an extraordinary English teacher. He spent every day reminding his students that their effort was more important than talent, IQ, or ability. his piece depicts the way this teacher engaged his students. It begins with the welcoming of students at the door and builds into the excitement and intensity of the class itself, finishing with the teacher saying goodbye until tomorrow. A different and bright piece with a positive message from composer Ed Kiefer.

City Chase

Experience the thrill of the chase through the dark city streets! This cinematic theme begins with intensity and builds to an aggressive pursuit with many rhythmic twists and turns. A short reflective section in the shadows offers a brief reprieve before the exciting chase resumes with even greater energy and drive. This contemporary style composition offers the opportunity to practice alternating staccato and legato style playing. Several individual solo or lightly scored sections let your ensemble focus on listening and balance skills, until all players converge once again. Enjoy the chase of a great musical experience!

Clarinet on the Town - Ralph Hermann

Clarinet on the Town is a modern novelty clarinet solo of medium difficulty. It begins with a bright, romping section, going next to a blues section, and finally returning to the first theme with a real curtain-raising" coda. Clash of the Warriors

Based upon a Bulgarian folk song, this musical depiction of two warriors getting ready and ultimately battling each other begins with a mysterious and ominous statement. Use the subsequent 2+2+2+3 section to teach about the use of mixed meters while also reinforcing listening and dynamic skills. Active mallet and percussion parts will challenge your more advanced players. With varied dynamics, meter changes and interesting melodic and accompaniment lines, this composition works well as a concert closer or concert and contest selection.

Clock Tower

Beginning and ending with the "Westminster Chimes" tune, this easy band piece contains many musical and technical elements for performers. Using a tick tock from the percussion section as a base, the main theme is based on ascending and descending scale patterns reinforced with a countermelody and contrasting legato section. Each section is featured and generous cross cues will let bands experiment with different instrumentation choices. An excellent choice for early concert and contest experiences.
