This is named after a state park in Arkansas where one can actually hunt for diamonds. It is a nice melody with good and interesting harmonies. This is a great work for using your percussion section. The 1st trumpet's highest note is Bb. No clarinet crosses the break.

Crowns and scepters have been an essential part of the royal celebration since medieval times. This piece suggests the declaration of an opening ceremony with a bold militaristic fanfare, followed by a regal processional, reminding the listener of kings and queens receiving admiration from their people as they process on a stately occasion. Besides its potential as a piece for contest or festival performance, it will also work well for graduation ceremonies.

This piece is a tribute to the Da Vincian model of creativity. Using a single theme, Larry Clark uses da Vinci's approach to view this theme from every angle. Clark starts with a fanfare, followed by an original theme, then presents a multitude of variations on the themes in different keys, styles and time signatures. You'll find everything from African style to jigs in this incredibly complex piece; well worth the effort for your band.This piece cannot be used with the 1999 Belwin-Mills edition.
