£104.50Esprit Du Corps March - John Philip Sousa
Fans and march enthusiasts will be delighted with this wonderfully stylish rediscovered march. At the time this march was written, Sousa was living in Philadelphia and had not yet begun his Marine Band career - but he was an accomplished composer who already had 34 publications to his credit. However, the march was not published for band until after he left the Marine Band and formed his professional band. This march, listed as Opus 45, is a fitting tribute to the great talent of the young John Philip Sousa, and to the esprit de corps of bands everywhere.

£71.50Full Moon - Joseph Eidson
Full Moon sets a dark and mysterious mood where vampires, werewolves and other unknown figures lurk in the shadows. Emphasizing smooth and lyrical playing, this piece also helps instruct young players how to shape phrases and listen for balance within the overall texture. First heard in the low winds, the melody eventually appears in every section of the band, building to a spine-tingling climax. A spooky reminder to beware the light of the full moon, as you never know what might be waiting in the shadows....

This arrangement has been carefully arranged for the ability of young players but will also sound great with more experienced ensembles as a warm-up or lyric concert selection.

When Men and Mountains Meet - Scott Watson
Commissioned by the East Stroudsburg Area School District, this work displays the effort and determination it must have taken to establish this community in the Pocono mountains with wall upon wall of rock to be blasted and great masses of earth to be moved. It opens with a broad, somewhat dissonant statement representing the settlers first intimidating encounter with the mountain, followed by a faster, insistent theme as the area is settled and developed. An impressive work for young bands that makes us aware that truly great things are done "when men and mountains meet."

The music was composed with the thought that these fine young performers required a piece that they could focus their energy into and that captured their unmistakable innate energy.
