Polish academic Nicolaus Copernicus was a genius, excelling in the fields of mathematics, physics, law and astronomy. He is most remembered for his then revolutionary model of the solar system. Going against the grain, he put forward the idea that the sun, and not the earth, was the focal point of our solar system and all the planets revolve around it. Despite the initial uproar his ideas caused, he revolutionised science during the 15th century. His influence can still be felt today and despite being separated by many centuries, Copernicus inspired composer Johan Nijs to write this exciting piece for concert band.

Le Chevalier de Versailles - Bart Picqueur
Bart Picqueur dedicated this composition to his father on the occasion of his 70th birthday. In this work, the composer musically refers to their family roots in 17th-century France. I composed Axis as a dedication to my friend Shinya Nakamitsu. He is a wonderful graphic designer who loves wind band music. Some years ago, I made a demo CD to hand out to a number of people. He oversaw the jacket design for that project and I composed this traditional march to thank him. Shinya Nakamitsu runs a design company called AXIS: hence the name of the composition.

The son of a jazz pianist and a singer, Roger Cicero (born 1970 in Berlin) stepped onto stage for the first time when he was only seven years old! He went on to study piano, guitar and singing, and appeared with well-known swing and jazz orchestras. After first working as a composer, he began performing as a vocalist and represented Germany in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. Peter Schller has combined three hits from an artist who makes the language of Goethe swing: Frauen regier'n die Welt, Nicht artgerecht and Zieh' die Schuhe aus. This arrangement contains optional parts for piano/keyboard, and electric or bass guitar.

Reflections on Paris is the result of the composer's visit to the city in the summer of 1972. During one day of his stay in the city, he had the occasion to visit the Louvre, after which he strolled through the Tuileries Gardens,past the Place de la Concorde and up the Grand Avenue des Champs-Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe.
