Howl's Moving Castle - Joe Hisaishi
Based on Hayao Miyazaki's animation "Howl's Moving Castle" (2004), this Symphonic Fantasy for Band was arranged for Neagari Jr. High School Band (Kazuhiro Tanaka- director) in Nomi, Ishikawa, Japan as concert contest non-test repertoire.This work consists of 5 scenes which are freely adapted from Image Symphonic Suite (music released before the film's premier) and The Soundtrack:1. This festive concert march was commissioned by the Portuguese wind band 'Banda de Msica de Carregosa' on the occasion of the nomination as 'Commendator' of its president, the businessman Fernando Pinho Teixeira, in 2005. The band premiered the march in April 2006. Because of its solemn and majestic character, this lyrical and tuneful march reminds us of the music of the baroque era. This is, no doubt, a fine acquisition for the march music repertoire.

This is on of the group Chicago's most popular ballads, still doing great after beeing recorded in 1972 on their fifth album. Chicago's main songsriter, Robert lamm, wrote this after a particulary exhilarating 4th of July spen in New York's Central Park, where there were steel drum players, singers, dancers and jugglers. This was originally used as a soundtrack to an unreleased home video. It became the group's first gold single.

This is an ancient Welsh air that was first published in Relics of the Welsh Bards in 1794. Dafydd (David) Owain was a famous Welsh bard who lived on a farm called Gareg Wen (The White Rock) in Eifionydd, Carnarnvonshire, North Wales. Tradition has it that on his deathbed he called for his Harp and composed this lovely melody, requesting that it be played at his funeral. Accordingly, it was later played at the parish church of Ynys-Cynhaiarn. Lyrics were later added by Ceiriog Hughes, which describe the melody's inspiration. This version for Concert Band retains all the beauty and simplicity of the original.
