Les pcheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers) is an opera in three acts by French composer Georges Bizet, who particularly made his fame with his opera Carmen. The friendship duet Au fond du temple saint, generally known as ThePearl Fishers Duet, is one of the best known in the opera literature. This arrangement for two trombones was written for and dedicated to trombone legends Joseph Alessi and Jrgen van Rijen. It serves as a possible encore piece in combinationwith Two-Bone Concerto, which was also written for them. The duet can also be performed by two euphoniums, or as the original vocal duet for tenor and baritone voice.

This arrangement was made for The Suoni Wind Orchestra of Skien, Norway, and performed for the first time at their Promenade Concert "At Sea" at the Ibsen Culture Center, March 8th 2014, being the final number of the concert. Participating this concert was also the Choir Canto Libre and the two vocal soloists were Eli Kristin Hansveen and Andreas Hoff. Since that time this arrangement has been used also at other concerts involving choir and soloists. It is important that tempo is not too slow and one has to be thorough with details in the percussion parts. NASA's Apollo program is known for landing the first humans on the moon in 1969. In this composition, your dauntless adventure begins with a powerful lift off. Once achieved, the main theme is presented by flutes, oboe, and then trumpets, with stabilizers provided by baritone, tenor sax, and eventually the remainder of the crew. Stage 1 boosters (a strong, rhythmic accompaniment) provide the propulsion needed to voyage through to a sea of tranquility (lyrical section). A very exciting and contemporary work that is descriptive of the tragedy that occurred in Central America in 1541 when a long quiet volcano that had filled with water suddenly erupted, sending mud and water covering the city of Ciudad Vieja killing many and completely wiping out the city. The name of that volcano was Agua, which on that day brought whelm on to everything that its waters touched. This is the second published work by young composer Cory McBride and was written when he was a 16 year old high school student. Bold, unique and distinctive, includes solos for flute, tenor sax, bari sax & horn and it's an excellent programming choice for any festival or concert performance by better bands.
