The idea for Sdwind Overture arose during dinner with the conductor Werner Buchmann and a few members of his band. Ferrer Ferran accepted the commission to write the work and asked Mr. Buchmann jokingly to sing him a motif offive notes that would serve as the leitmotif of the composition. The Title Go Far is a word play referring to what the players are going to (GO FAR!) and the musical inspiration from the TV-series Fargo (Mr. Wrench & Mr. Numbers). The piece is very groovy and especially the drum kit needs to lead the band and preferably sound like good, old John Bonham (drummer in the band Led Zeppelin). The melody is inspired by cool Native Americans and the band really needs to bring their primal roar! The piece was written for Eikanger-Bjrsvik Musikklag and their annual summer band camp Feriespel in 2017.

This work was commissioned by Midtun Skoles Musikkorps (Bergen) and their conductor Christian Breistein. This is one of the best school bands in Norway, consisting of members up to 19 years of age.Aagaard-Nilsen did a workshop with the band and recorded every idea the young players came up with. Many of the ideas from the kids became musical elements in the piece. The conductor, the person who know every member's skills best, made sure that every member got a part they could actually play.Fantasia was premiered at the Norwegian Wind Band Championships for School Bands in June 2019.Fantasia is dedicated to Christian Breistein.

£113.30Fantasy For Winds - Lorenzo Pusceddu
The piece opens with a sumptuous celebratory fanfare dominated by the brass section. In the following Allegro, the woodwind instruments weave their graceful melodious plots, with occasional intense interruptions by the brass section. The piece continues with Valzers where the initial melancholic mood set by the woodwind is superseded by the brass section harkening back to modal musical mode before, once more, being taken up by the woodwind instruments. The piece closes with a gently expressive Andante. The gentle delicacy of this section moves to a moderate Allegro featuring a running dance with light-hearted irregular rhythm. The return to the opening fanfare brings us back to the anniversary celebrations of the Band and a solemn final sequence to the composition. The debut performance took place under the direction of the composer at the Gala Concert on March 28, 2009.

£105.80Oros, Little Suite - Daniele Carnevali
This piece was commissioned for the second edition of the "Suoni d'Aspromonte" National Competition which is held in Cittanova in the province of Reggio Calabria. The title, Oros, from the ancient Greek word for "mount", is a clear reference to the Greek culture that colonised Calabria and the magnificence of the Aspromonte massif that dominates the entire region: forests, towns and sea. The piece consists of three movements: Entrata, Serenata and Corteggio, offering rhythms and melodies that reflect present-day tastes rather than local musical traditions. It is specifically intended for bands with lots of young members.
