£36.95Do you Recall? (Trombone Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
A slow, bluesy solo for trombone with wind band accompaniment. Like many people, I took the opportunity offered by the COVID lockdown in the Spring of 2020 to sort through old paperwork. I discovered a lot of songs that had not seen the light of day for many years and were mostly written with just the melody and chord symbols. Some offered the potential of becoming instrumental solos with a combination of heart-on-the-sleeve melodies the like of which I would not write now, together with maybe a greater sophistication in the instrumental writing. I had the notion in the back of my mind that 'Do you recall?' would work as a trombone solo but it seemed to fight me all the way. However, once finished it has proved to appeal to trombonists and has already been recorded by Brett Baker. It is not intrinsically difficult but needs a sense of the appropriate slow swing style and good control throughout the range. - Rob Wiffin. Duration: 4.15

£104.99Fanatic Winds (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Fanatic Winds is a lively concert work with a youthful character. With it's freshness and fast tempo this piece is an ideal work to open any concert. The title reflects the healthy fanaticism that musicians must have to go to rehearsals every week after work or school dedicating many hours to their band. Following much hard work this fanaticism is always rewarded by the joy of performing and the audience's applause during a concert. Along with a passion for playing, the positive reactions of the audience provide the necessary encouragement to keep the players coming back for rehearsals time and time again. 05:30

£64.35Half Step March
Fingers will fly and ears will perk up to this unique quick-step march titled "Half Step March" by Kyle McKinzey. As the title suggests, it is a flurry of chromatic runs and "licks" that will make your students WANT to practice, and have your audience's toes tapping. For many, it will bring back memories of the old circus marches. You will be able to see clowns running about, trapeze artists flying around and much more. A great opener to a concert, or a quick encore piece that will leave them wanting more.

East Coast Pictures - Nigel Hess
East Coast Pictures was commissioned by the British Youth Wind Orchestra with funds from the National Westminster Bank plc. These three short 'pictures' were inspired by several visits to a small part of the American East Coast, an area that provides great extremes in the geography and the people. Movement 1: Shelter Island is a small island situated near the end of Long Island, a few hours drive east of New York. In the summer it becomes a crowded tourist trap; but in the winter it is gloriously deserted and bravely faces the onslaught of the turbulent Atlantic, shrouded in sea mists and driving rain. This 'picture' is a fond memory of a winter weekend on Shelter Island. Movement 2: In upstate New York lie the Catskills Mountains--an extraordinary combination of tranquillity and power, peace and majesty. Once seen, they call you back again and again. Movement 3: New York - or to be more precise, Manhattan. For anyone who is familiar with this bizarre and wonderful city, here is a 'picture' that needs no explanation. For those not yet hooked this is a foretaste of things to come!

Kuda, kuda v udalilis - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
The aria 'Kuda, kuda v udalilis' is sung by Lensky, fianc of Olga and friend of Onegin in the second act of Tschaikowsky's opera Eugene Onegin: Lensky challenged Onegin to a duel in response to Onegin's advances on Olga. Now, on the morning of the duel, Lensky looks back on his happy youth as he waits for Onegin to arrive. He realizes that he will probably die in the duel and that he does not particularly care if he does. The only great loss in his death would be that he would never see Olga again.

£98.20San Carlo - Lorenzo Pusceddu
Ugo Papurello, president of the ''I Filarmonici'' band from San Carlo Canavese (Turin), commissioned this piece to celebrate the group's twentieth anniversary. The opening fanfare is an eloquent and fitting introduction to a solemn celebration. It is followed by the allegro, which has a modal feel and is characterised by a succession of rhythms representing the liveliness ad enthusiasm that have always characterised this band. The andante symbolises a moment of reflection and nostalgic reminiscence. The allegro is repeated as an expression of the hope that the band will continue to set itself increasingly ambitious goals. The fanfare brings back the joyous atmosphere of this special occasion and sets a formal seal on the band's twentieth anniversary.

£82.50Time Circles - John Prescott
The concept of transporting oneself back in time through memory has long been the subject of debate and curiosity. A popular song or striking melody can be a key to unlocking distant memories, and for a brief instant create a circle in time. The evocative music of this work appears at times in melodic swirls that seem to float in from the distance as memories sometimes occur. Light but persistent percussion creates a subtle yet unyielding background for wind lines that seem to travel through passageways of sounds as though traveling through time itself.
