St. James Drive - Harm Evers

A visit to the United Stetes inspired Harm Evers to write this march. It has thus become an "American style" march-a happy "Swing March." The Pithy rhythnical melody and the simple harmony come together in a merry whole. The melodic counterparts in the tenor register, the dynamic contrasts, and the varied instrumentation keep the march exciting from the beginning to the end, both for the listener and the musician.

    Grnemeyer! - Herbert Grönemeyer

The German singer and actor Herbert Grnemeyer has remained faithful to his own style since the beginning of his career in the eighties, yet still managed to further develop his craft and himself, all the while remaining successful. His albums sell well, and his concerts, especially in Germany, are frequently sold out. Wolfgang Wssner chose four diverse songs from Grnemeyer's extensive repertoire (Mnner, Mensch, Flugzeuge im Bauch and Mambo), creating a medley that remains exciting to the very end.

DRAGON DANCE (Prestige Concert Band Extra Score) - Stubbs, Duncan

Score only. Of all dragon species, the habits of the ice dragon, hidden away in its mountain fastness, are the least known. Spending most of their lives deep below ground in vast caverns they venture abroad very rarely. Fiercely territorial, encounters with others of their kind precipitate conflict, both immediate and violent. Those few people who have witnessed such encounters, and survived them, liken them to a kind of frenetic dance, hence the title of the piece. Heavily armed, intelligent creatures, the contests are highly ritualised. The frantic pace and intensity of the encounters mean they ten to be brief, ending with one, or often both beasts, crashing into the mountain side, causing a huge avalanche htat invariably marks the end of the encounter. Duration: 5:03 Recorded on Polyphonic QPRM153D Wind Borne

    Stormy Seas

Built in 1873, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse is the tallest tower on the Oregon Coast, soaring 93 feet in the air. While the lighthouse has never been damaged, it has witnessed many severe storms. Stormy Seas is a musical depiction of one such storm. Alternating with brief periods of calm, the composition could easily be described as fast, furious and exhilarating. Well-written wind parts coupled with a strong contribution by the percussion section makes this work the perfect choice for your band's favorite piece for years to come. Audiences will be captivated by the sounds of lightning and thunder at the very end!

When Nature strikes back - Otto M. Schwarz

Ice ages, warm periods, impacts by asteroids - the climate on our planet has always been in a state flux. The difference to the past is that since the industrial revolution, the changes are now also increasingly caused by human activity. The release of greenhouse gases in particular promotes the warming of the atmosphere and the oceans. Some experts even predict an increase of up to 4.8 degrees by the end of the 21st century. The result of such a development, apart from environmental catastrophes that are difficult to predict, would be a gigantic migration of populations. CO2 emissions must be reduced: it is five minutes to twelve. The harbingers of disaster have already reached us.
