Symphonic concert work, dedicated to the Bauernkapelle St. Georgen, conductor Johannes Biegler. The concert work "La Citt", which translates as "The City", is a tribute to the district of St. Georgen near Eisenstadt in Austria.The work begins with a majestic introduction in which the main theme is presented. The following Allegro con Spirito. Is intended to symbolize the occupation of the Romans after the birth of Christ. The "St. George's Song", a folk tune arranged in various registers, is heard. Another fast section reminds us once again of the Romans. After a reprise of the opening theme with various solos, the work ends in a grandiose finale with the whole orchestra.

This composition by the Danish composer Sren Hyldgaard is a tribute to his fellow-countryman Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875). In this musical epic in addition to various fairytale figures present (like the little match-girl) Hyldgaard has also tried to represent the spiritual father of fairy tales in music. This work was commissioned by the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force Band, based at Kure City, Hiroshima, Japan, to celebrate their 60th anniversary. The composer used a passage from Kosaku Yamada's Umi No Sakimori (Sakimori of the Sea), ceremonial music of the Maritime Self-Defence Force. The result is Homage, expressing Yagisawa's respect for Yamada and his work, a tribute to a composer whose legacy includes a large number of Japanese songs.Duration: 7.45
