£154.99The Monk and the Mills (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Evil people know no songs! Inspiration for this work was taken from the legend of the "Valley of the Mills", in which a traveller taught songs to the people of a village who had been put under a spell by a monk for their violation of moral standards. He brought song and prosperity back to the valley. It is this enchanting story, which shows the positive power of music, that Thomas Doss used as the basis for this splendid concert work which will be loved by all who perform it and listen to it. 10:27

£149.99The Road to the West Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)
As he did before in the often played and commonly appreciated 'Lord Tullamore', in which he poetically depicted the landscape and the cultural elements of a small Irish village, in his composition 'The Road to the West' Carl Wittrock has sketched pioneer existence in America in a cinematic manner. In 'The Road to the West' the composer has tried to capture images of pioneer life during the period dating from 1850 to 1890, the days of the so-called Wild West.In those days, the Wild West used to be the territory west of civilization, the domain of cowboys, trappers, and other fortune hunters. In short, ample ingredients for a captivating story. In the first scene a lonely adventurer struggles against nature and the elements. After an exciting adventure he passes through 'the Plains', where majestic views alternated by colossal mountain ranges display an almost unimaginable beauty. After weeks of isolation civilization is reached again. 'The Saloon' is the perfect meeting place - here news is exchanged and hilarious scenes regularly take place. 08:00

£143.00Psyche et Eros (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Franck, Cesar - Cesarini, Franco
Cesar Franck, composer, pianist, organist and music teacher, completed Cupid and Psyche, his sixth and last symphonic poem in 1887. It was first performed in Paris in 1888 and was a complete success, but the piece later fell completely into oblivion, and it was only thanks to some meticulous research that it has returned to concert halls. The intricate love affair between Psyche and Cupid is an original story of the Metamorphoses, written in the 2nd century AD by Apuleius. The tale is about overcoming obstacles in love and their final union. The symphonic poem is divided into three parts and calls for a choir. The movement that is the subject of this arrangement, Psyche et Eros, is positioned at the end of the second part. Franco Cesarini's version for wind orchestra carefully illustrates the nuances of the instrumental colours, and represents a real test aimed at demonstrating the musicality and interpretative skills of orchestras and their conductors. £75.00The Cherry Tree Carol (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Noble & Willcocks
The Cherry Tree Carol is a Christmas carol with roots that go deep and wide: from medieval England back to the 12th century Crusader kingdoms and ultimately to early Christian communities of the Middle East who worshipped in Syriac, a liturgical form of Aramaic, the language of Jesus. The song itself is very old, reportedly sung in some form at the Feast of Corpus Christi in the early 15th century. The ballad relates an apocryphal story of the Virgin Mary, presumably while traveling to Bethlehem with Joseph for the census. In the most popular version, the two stop in a cherry orchard, and Mary asks her husband to pick cherries for her, citing her child. This arrangement represents one in the Series of Band Arrangements compatible with David Willcocks' Carols for Choirs.
