£149.99Moses and Ramses - Satoshi Yagisawa
This piece was commissioned by Matsudo Citizen Wind Orchestra for their 30th anniversary concert and premired by the band conducted by Kenichiro Hasunuma in July 2009. This piece is typical of Satoshi Yagisawa in that it depicts a magnificent spectacle. This one is set in ancient Egypt and is based on the story depicted in the famous film "The Ten Commandments" (1956, directed by Cecil B. DeMille). One day Moses, who was raised by the rich royal family, found out that he was originally Hebrew. The Hebrews had been forced to live as slaves. Ramses, the prince directly descended from the Pharaoh, envied Moses' strength and popularity. After internal argument Moses decides todeliver the Hebrew from the Pharaoh's tyranny and escape from Egypt with them.The music starts with brilliant royal fanfare and depicts magnificent architecture, the Hebrew people forced into hard labour, and the slaves escaping from the Pharaoh's tyranny. At the climax they are at crisis point, trapped by the sea. Moses waves his staff and the miracle happens; the sea parts and Hebrew people successfully escape. Following on from Perseus - A Hero's Quest in the Heavens, this work Moses and Ramses is another piece written in the dramatic style favoured by Satoshi Yagisawa.

Bite the Bullet by Mexican-American composer Jorge Machain was named 2019-2020 winner of acclaimed "The American Prize" for music, in addition to being a finalist in the 2018 NBA Revelli competition. The work was inspired by a painting by Venetian artist, Carlo Marchiori, which depicts two 'Pulcinelli' (Venetian clowns) engaged in a gun battle. As the bullets meet in the middle of the scene, a colorful and vibrant cloudburst is created. Using a unique sonic color scheme, the brass and percussion portray the gunshots, while the woodwind flourishes emulate the painter's vibrant brush strokes.Commissined and recorded by the UNLV Wind Orchestra Thomas G. This turns into a quickly moving energetic section with irregular rhythm. This is a short but dramatic piece that will make a brilliant concert opener.

Remembrance Day (Totengedenken) is a chorale-like piece in memory of those who have died in service. Jacob de Haan composed this work for a concert by the symphonic wind orchestra Symphonic Winds, which he conducted in Germany on Volkstrauertag (national remembrance day). The composition is based on a text from Totengedenken (Commemoration of Those Who Have Died). This narrative text is provided in four languages, and is intended to be spoken (using a microphone) ad libitum during the performance. Choir parts are also available to complement the performance.

The piece was commissioned by Shobi College of Music (Tokyo, Japan) for their entrance ceremony for freshman students in 2010, premiered by Shobi Ceremonial Wind Orchestra (Hirohisa Takanashi, conductor).In the introduction, woodwinds and euphonium play a solemn passage, followed by a brilliant fanfare in brass and percussion. After the heart-warming middle section, banda trumpets and trombones play a polyphonic passage, which leads to a grand andmagnificent finale to conclude the work. This is a short but solemn and impressive piece that suits any kind of festival, ceremony and concert.

The European Overture is an enthusiastic and amazing opening dedicated to and premiered by Jan Cober and the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra in Luxembourg, 2013. As a clarinetist member of the EUYWO (2009, 2011 and 2013), not only was Prez Garrido fortunate enough to work with maestro Cober and many of the most talented European young musicians but he also made a lot of good friends. This incredible experience motivated him to compose one of his most renowned works.
