Alliance Day celebrates this treaty by using the French and German national anthems as compositional material. Emblems of each nation, they are transformed throughout the work, symbolising the journey towards unity. The piece moves between intense, lyrical moments and playful, melodic ones. The orchestral climax culminates in an explosion of sound before reaching a grandiose finale.

The 330-meter-tall Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Originally built as a temporary structure for the 1889 World's Fair, it was meant to symbolize the technological and industrial advancements of the 19th century. Construction began in 1887 and was completed in 1889, just in time for the fair, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Over two years, around 300 workers assembled the 18,038 iron pieces.Until the 1930s, the Eiffel Tower, standing at 330 meters, was the tallest structure in the world and was considered a triumph of engineering. With its striking and controversial design, the Eiffel Tower broke with architectural traditions and set new standards for the use of metal structures. However, its creation was accompanied by heated debates. Many artists and intellectuals, including Charles Gounod and Alexandre Dumas, criticized the "gigantic skeleton" as unaesthetic and a threat to the Parisian skyline. "Mitt hjerte er ditt" ("My Heart is Yours") is primarily known with this Norwegian lyrics and melody from Maj Britt Andersen's recording of the song, first released in 1992. Andersen's husband, Geir Holmsen, composed the new music for this recording, a version that has since been performed by numerous other artists, including Anna of the North on "Hver gang vi mtes" in 2022.The lyrics are Alf Prysen's Norwegian translation of Nils Ferlin's Swedish text, originally written to a Swedish folk tune.This is an arrangement written for a vocal soloist and wind orchestra, but it can also be played with instrumental soloists or purely instrumentally. The song has only two verses, so the middle section of this arrangement is an orchestral verse where the melody begins in the lower instruments.

The poem Romjulsdrm ("Christmas Dream") was first published in Arbeiderbladet on January 3rd 1959, and became known when Thoralf Borg set a melody to it in 1968. Up until this, Alf Prysen had used a melody quite similar to the song Lijan uti dalen, when he sang the song in the TV program Ei vise vil jeg synge in 1964. At the same time that Borg's melody was written, the last four lines of text were also added to the poem, and the song took on the form we know today.The form and structure of this arrangement originates from a version for big band and vocals commissioned by stre Toten Storband, written in 2018 for one of their traditional midnight concerts on the day before Christmas. In an attempt to give the arrangement a nice calm and the text a lot of room, as is often the case in songs like this, it ended up in a relatively narrative style where the variation in tempo and the shifts between swing and straight eighth notes are particularly central.The song is about family, friendship and the quiet days of the Christmas holidays, which hopefully is something most people can recognise. The arrangement for the aforementioned midnight concert was ordered because my sister was to be the soloist for the concert, and since my father also played lead trombone - as he has done in this big band for as long as I can remember - it was natural to add a small trombone solo as well. It's always special to write and arrange music for people I know and appreciate, but it's extra special when it's also for two of my great role models.- David Stre Hveem -

It sets the tempo, and musicians practice their themes together or against each other, register by register.In music, however, it's not just about technique and precision, but also about emotions. Music connects people, fosters friendships, and accompanies them through the highs and lows of life. The sense of togetherness in music becomes increasingly audible. Everyone works together and pulls in the same direction to ultimately achieve something great.Georges Sadeler, born in 1988 is a Luxembourgish composer and saxophonist with the Grand Ducal Military Band of Luxembourg. His father kindled his interest in composing and arranging at an early age, a study he later continued under his two teachers Marco Ptz and Claude Lenners, both of whom taught at the Conservatoire of Music, Luxembourg. He gradually began to establish his own style, combining the enormous range of possibilities of contemporary music and classical music and, in the years that followed, he won six first prizes at various national and international composition competitions. His works have since been performed all over Europe.
