Galileo - Thomas Doss
For this spirited concert march, the creative and lively mind of the great Italian mathematician, physicist and astronomer Galileo Galilei, who lived from 1564 to 1642, served as a source of inspiration. Galileo was the founder of experimental thinking in physics, and he made numerous discoveries and formulated many useful theories in this field. His reluctance to unquestioningly accept established authorities and ideas was also typical of his inventive mind. Moreover, Galileo was more accessible to the common people. He tried to encourage them to think for themselves, and he published his research results in the form of dialogues that were easy to understand. This accessibleconcert march - a suitable homage to Galileo - builds a bridge between the musician and the listener.

£179.99Monastery Tales - Thomas Doss
Within the old monastery walls that today are home to the school that commissioned this work, a school orchestra is rehearsing: young people who stay together and make music; a teacher, who does what he can to bring the students, the music and the orchestra together. The concerts begin and the first successes soon follow. Then comes a tragic death that brings the project to its knees. The mood is forlorn. No one expects to continue with it. But 'now more than ever!' rings out. The message of this musical story is that when a teacher has ideals and commitment to his students, anything is possible.

In the course of a short flight, the composer was able to get a birds-eye view of the landscape in which the sun's rays, glistening on the snow and ice, transformed the scenery into crystal. This unforgettable image of the breathtaking beauty of the mountains is captured in musical form in From Crystals and Eagles.

£84.99Scherzpolka - Thomas Doss
In the somewhat sarcastic Scherzpolka (Joke Polka), the composer does not intend to make fun of Alpine traditions and music but rather of the typical social attitude that does not always do justice to the valuable folk music and culture. Imagine a band that has to play in a beer tent for hours. During the performance the guests treat the musicians to one beer after another. Gradually, the players and the conductor lose control over their instruments and their interpretation of the music. Finally, the performance comes to an end: the Scherzpolka is actually the last piece. There are no limits to the creativity in both the visual and musical aspects during a performance of theScherzpolka!
