It starts with a stately fanfare introduction which leads directly into the "furious" section. This section features a fast tempo where several playable yet independent melody lines are intertwined to create a very busy yet pleasing musical landscape. An adagio section follows before a reprise of the "furious" section leads to a big finish. A rewarding work that is a welcome addition to any performance!

An outstanding composition by Ed Huckeby that features rhythmic accompaniment rhythms in the third and fourth parts contrasted with simple, but musically effective first and second part melodic lines. The slower middle section features a haunting melody in 3/4 time and is an excellent teaching tool for the legato style. Ed's arrangement for the Build-A-Band Series makes it playable with very small bands and bands with severe instrumentation issues and insures that it will be a favourite concert and contest selection for years to come for these groups. As usual with this series, optional parts are included for Percussion and piano.

Composed by Edvard Grieg in 1875, music from Peer Gynt was originally incidental music for Henrik Ibsen's five-act play. The beautiful Solveig's Song is from the second orchestral suite later extracted by Grieg. Johnnie's tender setting opens with a lyric theme scored for the trumpet section. A brief andante section features the woodwinds before returning to the opening melody this time richly scored for full band. A beautiful work for teaching lyric style playing.
