Jon Henrik Mario Fjllgren became instantly well-known after his appearance in Sweden's "Got Talent" where he performed "Daniels Joik" written for his recently passed best friend.Fjllgren was born in Cali, Columbia in 1987 but adopted by a Swedish Sami family and lives now as a reindeer herder, singer and composer. He debuted on stage in 2003, 14 years old and on record two years later.After the success with "Got Talent", he has also participated twice in the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest.This arrangement can be performed in a long or shorter version, for short version cut bars 58-78.

Talisman tells the story of the "Pierre du Serment", an event that took place in 1639 in the village of Fontenotte, on the border between France and Switzerland. Composed of three brothers and their parents, the Billod family lived peacefully on their farm despite the Thirty Years' War raging around them. When their father was captured by the Swedish mercenaries who plundered the farm, the three brothers vowed to save him, carving their pact in stone according to a Celtic and Viking tradition.Commissioned by the Orchestre d'Harmonie de Montlebon for its centenary, this work pays tribute to a local story that has become a legend. The conductor, Jean-Pierre Frigo, wanted this commission to mark the orchestra's presence within the region.

A lovely melody with great expressions.Our Last Summer" is a song by the Swedish pop group ABBA from their seventh studio album, "Super Trouper," released in 1980. The song is indeed featured in the musical "Mamma Mia!", a little bit shortened and with small changes in the lyrics. The musical premiered in London's West End in 1999 and is a duet performed by the characters Harry Bright and Donna Sheridan, reflecting on their past romance during a summer spent in Paris.The song is primarily sung by Bjrn Ulvaeus, with backing vocals provided by Agnetha Fltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, the female members of ABBA. Their harmonies contribute to the song's nostalgic and wistful atmosphere. The lyrics vividly describe the memories of the summer spent together, including scenes of walking along the Seine River in Paris and listening to French songs. The song also touches on the passage of time and the realization that the summer romance has ended.While not released as an official single in most countries, "Our Last Summer" still received considerable airplay and became a fan favorite. "Storsltt" or in English "Grand Nordic Tune" is one of many original pieces written by composer ystein Olsen Vadsten. "Sltt" is a general term for music played to traditional Norwegian dances."Grand Nordic Tune" was a commissioned work for the Rlingen Musikklag's 70-year anniversary concert in 2022, where the piece was premiered. They wanted something a little pompous, and preferably something in the style of Nordic folk music, which the composer is known for. The title in Norwegian then was obvious, "Storsltt", which in Norwegian has a double meaning, both a big tune and, in a double meaning, pompous or magnificent.As usual, the starting point is a traditional Nordic dance form, and this time the choice fell on the distinctive Swedish "polska", which is played in . The dance, despite its name, reportedly has no connection to Poland, but is entirely of Scandinavian origin. It has been danced for centuries, and has also been called the devil's dance, because it had a hypnotizing effect on people, so that they could not stop, but danced themselves to death. Hence people thought that it must have been the devil who caused it.Traditionally, there is a lot of repetition in this type of music, which contributes to this hypnotic effect.

"Waltz for Debby" was written by American jazz pianist and composer Bill Evans (1929-1980). It was heard for the first time on his 1956 debut record "New Jazz Conceptions". This recording made the tune his most famous one, included on several later recordings both for solo piano and his usual trio format. It also became a favorite on almost all his concerts. The tune is a kind of a musical portrait of Evans' niece, Debby Evans. In Scandinavia, Swedish singer Monica Zetterlund made it popular for a wider audience through her 1964-recording accompanied by Evans and his trio. On this recording, the song was renamed "Monicas vals".

In Charge was commissioned by the Home Guard Band of Eksj to honour Thomas Samuelsson, whose efforts with the orchestra have been of great significance. He was a driving person within Swedish military music and furthermore project manager for Eksj International Tattoo. Thomas worked at Eksj Energy and the title of this work hints both to his occupation and his administrative leadership in the band. The first part of this concert march concentrates a lot on syncopation, while the second part is more robust with a traditional and lyrical trio part. In Charge was premiered by the Home Guard Band of Eksj on the 22th of December 2018, conducted by Maria Sandberg.

£252.10Tales and Myths of Gothia - Jerker Johansson
Jerker Johansson has lived in Gothenburg, on the Swedish West Coast, since 1984, and is deeply interested in the history of the country. Gothia is the most southern part of Sweden, and Gothenburg, which was founded in 1621, is since many years an important centre for trade and shipping. Old paintings of the harbour with its gigantic sailing ships gave impulse to the heroic character of the piece. The opening fanfare is followed by a lively allegro, which eventually leads to a calm section, containing reminiscences of the fanfare. The flutes introduce a cantabile theme, and a dance reminding of the Renaissance precede a recapitulation of the allegro theme. Gothia ends withthe fanfare, the cantabile theme and the dancelike Renaissance music. Tales and Myths of Gothia was premiered on 8 September 2017 by Gothenburg Wind Orchestra conducted by Niklas Willn.
