This timeless film music brings a feeling of the Wild West. Director Sergio Leone gave a simple yet effective development of the story, which touched many people. 'Once Upon a Time in the West', has long been considered one of the best westerns of all time. The composer of the film's music was the Italian, Ennio Morrocone. He composed for many other films (eg The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) as well as other classical orchestral music. This arrangement is a medley of three different themes from 'Once Upon a Time in the West' and two themes from 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'.

Handel in the Strand is one of Grainger's early light orchestral pieces, written in 1911, before he enlisted in the US Army during World War I. Grainger had no trouble allowing other musicians to arrange his music to suit their needs, so Handel in the Strand has existed in several different versions. The Danserye - Tielman Susato
For this collection of instrumental dances, the composer, musician and publisher Tielman Susato (ca. 1510-1570) focused on well-known folk melodies of his time. In 1551, the album was published by his own Antwerp company, bearing the title 'Het derde musyck boexken'. Manu Mellaerts has already made numerous transcriptions of renaissance works for concert band and this time he sought to create a suite of five dances, based on Susato's collection. Triumphal March - Franco Cesarini
The Gran Finale from the second act of Verdi's famous opera Aida, composed in 1869, is a complex part of the drama as in one single scene many different characters, allwith contrasting emotions, appear onstage at the same time. The scene opens in Ancient Egypt when the Egyptian general Radames and his troops, which have just beaten Ethiopia, come marching in. The Egyptians sing a celebration song for him and there is a sound of trumpets playing the triumphal march to receive the hero. The well-known triumphal march, transcribed in this edition for concert band by Franco Cesarini, closely follows Verdi's original score and will bring any concert to a dramatic close.

The large creative output of the Danish composer Carl Nielsen (1865 - 1931) contains six symphonies, chamber music, vocal works and music for the theatre: two operas (Saul & David and Maskerade) and stage music for sixteen different plays. The stage music for Aladdin was written at the request of Johannes Nielsen, the director of the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. This production was based on the drama Aladdin (1805) by the Danish author Adam Oehlenschlger. Already before the premiere at the Royal Theatre, Carl Nielsen had adapted some of the music for the concert hall: he conducted the first performance of six of the seven movements of the concert suite on February6th, 1919. Johan de Meij's transcription for symphonic band contains the following movements: I Oriental Festival March II Aladdin's Dream / Dance of the Morning Mist III African Negro Dance
