The Mystery of Light (Nightlights) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schwarz, Otto M.
Light, sun, moon, stars: there has always been a connection to faith, the occult and mysticism. Different constellations were supposed to predict the future, and some phenomena have been interpreted as punishment by different Gods. From sunrises and solar eclipses, through rainbows, the scattering of light, sunset in the daytime, moonrises, the northern lights, the new moon, crescent moons and stellar constellations, to shooting stars... our observations encompass all this and much more. The Mystery of Light is the first of a series of pieces with the same theme. Nightlights deals with lights of the night: created partly by nature and partly by man himself and consists of three movements: Opener and Star Shower, Lunar Eclipse and Aurora and Fireworks.Duration: 13.15

Prima Luce Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)
Prima Luce (First Light) was commisioned by the Holy Angels Elementary School located in Aurora (USA). The name of the town (which means dawn), the town's great religious history and the fact that this town was one of the first in the USA to have streetlights were the inspiration for this Gregorian influenced atmospheric composition. 0:08:43

Solar Storm - David Marlatt
A solar storm (or solar flare) is a large explosion in the Sun's atmosphere releasing massive amounts of energy. This shifty, rhythmic piece is colorful and bold with great material in all sections. It is split into our main sections: Sunspots * Ode to Helios * The Carrington Event * Aurora Borealis. "Ode to Helios" features the band singing a chant, creating a haunting mood before returning to more energetic and heroic sections. Fun to play, exciting to hear! (8:20)
