Tigerstaden (The City of Oslo March) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Strand, Oyvind

The expression comes from the great poet Bjornstjerne Bjornson where he in the poem Siste sang (Last song) describes a battle between a tiger and a horse. The tiger symbolizes the big city (Oslo) while the horse symbolizes the countryside, ie the traditional battle city vs country. Hence Oslo (Kristiania) got the negative nickname Tigerstaden (Tiger City), but as time went on, the name established itself as something positive and familiar, and has become a beloved nickname, without negative associations, in the Capital. Tignale Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

His love for Italy explains Carl Wittrock solid in the composition Tignale, named after the same village that he visited one of his vacations. This village dominates the image of the western shore of Lake Garda, where it has a view on the Monte Baldo at the other side of the lake. It is a busy resort and center for excursions in the area. The enchanting location and stunning natural beauty inspired the composer to a musical description of Tignale and its surroundings. An impressive work and a wonderful challenge for orchestras in the middle section. 09:00

TIJUANA BRASS IN CONCERT (Young Band) - Ricketts, Ted

Here is a marvelous throw-back to the campy yet delightful music of the 60's, courtesy of Herb Alpert and his south-of-the-border hit makers. Although primarily a feature for the trumpet section, the woodwinds have their fair share of feature spots as well. Who doesn't remember songs like: "Spanish Flea," "Whipped Cream," "The Lonely Bull" and "Tijuana Taxi?"

Tijuana Trumpets (Trumpet Section feature with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip

Here is an opportunity for the trumpets to go through their paces! The syncopated nature of the tune may be unfamiliar to many young players, but once the sound is in their heads there shouldn't be a problem. The middle passage is a good test of counting and needs everyone to be confident of their entries. Players are also introduced here to the concept of first-and second-time bars (endings) and the D.C.Duration: 1.45
