The Royal Gunners (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob

The Royal Gunners is a concert prelude based on tunes strongly associated with the Band of the Royal Artillery. It was composed for the band?€s 350th Anniversary celebrations in 2012. It was constructed in a similar way to Grenadiers! using the band?€s own regimental marches as a basis for composition. In this case the marches were the present Royal Artillery Slow March and one of the oldest Royal Artillery Marches - ?€The Trayne of Artillery?€s Grenadiers Quick March?€ (The Train of Artillery).

The Royal Tower (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sweeney, Michael

Powerful harmonies and strong rhythms dominate this easy work from Michael Sweeney. Written in a simple rondo form, statements of the main theme are interspersed with a legato section featuring woodwinds, and later, question and answer phrases between percussion and the low voices. A sparkling addition for the easy level.

Off we go enjoying our traditional holiday sleigh ride. However, this time the horse gets a bit skittish and begins to speed up. With each passing phrase, our simple ride turns into the wildest of holiday adventures. In a very fun and entertaining setting, students will learn to watch the conductor while experiencing a wide range of tempi. As an option, you may wish to feature the accessory percussion/sound effect part "front and center" making The Runaway Sleigh a hilarious and hair-raising experience for all!

The Saint and the City Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

This tumultuous composition tells the legend of the town of Zwolle in the Netherlands. In the waters surrounding Zwolle lived a dragon. When it appeared it threatened to destroy the town with it fiery breath if a human sacrifice was not offered. St Michael confronted the dragon in a battle without equal. As a knight armed with a double edged sword the archangel battled against the dragon and decapitated it. Thus the city was saved. To represent the archangel the composer has chosen the hymn tune Laudate Dominum . The dragon is symbolised by a series of menacing chords. 0:08:00
