Celebration Fanfare - Reineke

Steven Reineke's "Celebration Fanfare" is a brilliant and imposing concert opener for mature ensembles. Originally composed for orchestra and dedicated to Cincinnati Pops maestro Erich Kunzel, this band transcription by composer Reineke will "wow" your audience. Celebration Fanfare - Satoshi Yagisawa

This piece was composed in 2009 for a commission by Shinjuku Bunka Center to commemorate its thirty years since its opening.It is an impressive work with a brilliant, bright fanfare, and the stately sound of the church organ reverberating through the concert hall. The first performance was given by Hiroko Takahashi, a house organist of the center, with Shinjuku City Wind Orchestra conducted by Shigeto Ishizu. Original works for church organ and wind orchestra are surprisingly scarce. This is a fresh opening piece, to be followed by an organ solo which might lead to a march.

Franz Joseph Haydn's famous melody from the second movement of the Emperor Quartet (String Quartet, Op. 76) was the basis for the national anthem of Austria for more than a century, and is frequently heard in hymns, anthems, andalma maters worldwide. In this celebratory extended fanfare, composer James Curnow skillfully weaves this majestic melody into a work which is both exuberant and energetic. Recorded by the Cobb Wind Symphony (Marietta, GA) -Alfred Watkins and Robert Cowles conductors, premiered during their performance at the 2018 Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic. This work was commissioned by the University of Kansas to celebrate the Inauguration of the 16th chancellor, Dr. Robert Hemenway. It opens with bold fanfares that lead into a bright scherzo section, which is followed by a traditional processional. The entire work culminates with a return of the fanfares and a rousing, fast-paced finale.

Celebration for Band - John Brakstad

Many Norwegian bands have grown up around factories, but Norwegian factories are often located in the countrysides - by a fjord or lake, by a river or waterfall that provided power for the factory. The factory was the foundation for the existence of the community, but it was also essential for the community's cultural life, choirs, bands etc. (cp. British brass bands and mining). "Celebration for band" tries to give a picture of the environment and life around a band like this, with both factory noise and the natural world (Pastorale), as well as the challenges and development of the band itself. The composition is built up of five connected episodes: - Fanfare and Prologue (concludes with a feeling of the untamed power of the river) - Pastorale I: " At the river" - Intermezzo: " The Factory" (starts with the opening of water for the turbines: snare drum. Factory whistle and bell call to work, and the spinning and weaving machinery starts up.) - Pastorale II: " Summer evening on the fjord." - Finale: " Challenge and Progress"
