Occurence - Haakon Esplo

Occurrence was written as a commissioned work for Randesund School Band in 2014. The symphonic work gives challenges for all instruments and is well suited to work with rhythm, intonation, sound and musicality.Percussion has a central role inthe piece with solo performances, and the beautiful middle part gives the band opportunity to demonstrate its ability to interpretation and musical understanding.Occurence is therefore well suited for competitions as well as concerts.

Oceania Dances - Kevin Mixon

Oceania Dances uses traditional music from Tahiti and Hawaii, islands located in the geographic region of the Pacific Ocean commonly referred to as Oceania. The recurring rhythms, prominently presented in the percussion solo sections, are derived from frenetic percussion music used to accompany Tahitian dancers.This piece gives you the chance to include the music of other cultures, but yet still has all of the traits of solid band literature. You can't go wrong with this selection for contest/festival.

Oceanscapes - Rob Romeyn

An interesting and entertaining concert piece for intermediate level bands that is a splendid choice for any concert or festival performance. The opening chime notes introduce a beautiful and memorable chorale section that reflects the immense power of the oceans. A pulsating 6/8 allegro section follows which represents the underwater ballet of aquatic life as all the varied species travel and intermingle under the surface. Interesting harmonies and appealing melodic themes add to the appeal of this well written composition.
