All these images will come to life again through the colorful and creative writing found in this playable work for concert band.

Return of the Vikings - Bert Appermont

This composition paints a picture of belligerent and brave Vikings. After a short introduction the lofty main theme is heard, accompanied by sombre drum sounds. A brief idyllic passage follows that evokes a beautiful landscape. Gradually, a heroicmelody is revealed, leading to a great tutti, in which the rousing main theme is heard once more. Return of the Vikings closes with the sound of heroic brass and festive chords.

Return to Neverland is a selection of melodies from the film of the same name, which was inspired by the timeless book by J J Barrie. This skilful arrangement interweaves fragments of the main melodies to make a fun and exciting work for concert band.

Return To Sterling Forest - Richard Summers

This delightful new piece for the youngest of students is written in the style of Medieval/Renaissance music. This beginning band piece uses only the first 6 notes of the Bb scale, and the hardest rhythm in the winds is quarter notes. There are many opportunities for very beginning students to stretch their newfound music muscles with this full sounding piece from composer Richard Summers. Richard uses his many years of experience as a band director to write music that students will love to play.
