"Is It New ??" by Gert Kolaja is a high-energy tribute to the iconic funk and soul sound of the 1970s and '80s. It opens with rhythmic drive and excitement, transitions into a calm, gospel-inspired blues in the middle section, and returns with full force for a rousing finale. Originally written as a feature for tenor saxophone and rhythm section, it can also be performed effectively with alto sax. The piece gives performers creative freedom, offering both chord-based improvisation and optional written-out solos. A dynamic composition full of groove, character, and stylistic flair.

Isabella - Franz von Suppé

Inspired by the operetta successes of Jacques Offenbach in Vienna, Franz von Supp (1819-1895) began composing his first stage works from 1860 onward. "Isabella," his comedic opera in one act from 1869, had its premiere in Vienna. The overture features both Spanish and Viennese melodies. Although Supp's music doesn't always exhibit a typical Viennese sound, he secured a place in concert halls with his overtures such as "Poet and Peasant" or "Light Cavalry."
