With lots of drive and down home blues harmonies, KENNESAW MOUNTAIN BLUES will latch on to your audience for keeps.Very accessible to Grade 2 1/2 bands, this is one of the most enjoyable pieces you'll find for any level of ability. If you have a kickin' drumset player, so much the better. Every section has gratifying parts to play, and the easy mixed-meter section sounds so natural but will keep 'em all thinking.The concert band doesn't often get the chance to play in styles like this, which is a shame, because it's so much fun. How about letting your band try a style that's about as far from John Phillip Sousa as you can get! Get down with some Blues! KENNESAW MOUNTAIN BLUES is a winner!

Kentucky Sunrise - Karl L. King

A great new edition of Karl L. King's classic circus piece with a happy ragtime beat. Originally written to accompany a "trick horse" act with the Barnum & Bailey's Circus, the tune soon became so popular that it was used for a wide variety of acts including clown "walk-a-bouts". Bob Foster's arrangement retains all of the color and excitement of the original while making it playable with the modern concert band instrumentation. It's not easy, but it sure is fun!

Kenya Contrasts - William Himes

This concert work is based on melodies from Kenya which originate in two children's counting games. Using "Wakarathe" from the Kikuyu tribe and "Tangewou" from the Kipsigis tribe, this work is an excellent adventure into multi-cultural programming.

Kerberos - Kjetil Djønne

"Kerberos" was written to Norwegian band Eidanger Pike- og guttekorps, Sigurd Skramsett conductor.When Sigurd Skramsett got in touch and wanted to commision a piece for their anniversary concert in November, I immediately thought of composing a piece about his role in the local bands. He has conducted the band for 15 years and has been important to the whole banding community in Telemark, Norway. My meeting with Sigurd in the summer of 2019 was at Dirigentuka (Conductors week) in Stavanger. We conducted many different types of music, including a blues by Torstein Aagard-Nilsen. All of the music at the course has inspired me in this piece.The name Sigurd originates from Norse mythology and means 'victory' and 'guardian'. KERBEROS is the three-headed dog guarding the entrance to the underworld of Greek mythology. Three heads, representing the past, present and future, became three movements representing three styles, and moods, in this work.Kjetil Djnne
