Jazz Kings

This jazz styling of the popular holiday carol "We Three Kings" offers a tribute to artists who are considered jazz royalty: Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Jingle Bell Rag - James Pierpont

Jingle Wish March - James Pierpont

What would a concert be without a march? This holiday toe-tapper has a familiar melody, tuneful harmonies, an easy-to-play countermelody, and a typical march bass line. A trio spells out the words "Jingle Bells" before the band transitions into "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". Use this arrangement to teach all the march-style elements while also entertaining audiences at holiday concerts.

John Philip Sousa March Collection

The seminal John Philip Sousa March Collection now exists in standard book format, featuring the first publication of a full conductor's score of all marches. This collection includes 16 of Sousa's greatest marches, including, Washington Post, Semper Fidelis, The Thunderer, and many others originally published by Carl Fischer Music between 1886 and 1894. In order to maintain the integrity of the original works, there are no added or changed articulations, changed instrumentation, or re-scored parts. The only changes made from the original are intended to clarify errors and remove inconsistencies in dynamics, hairpin placements, and articulations due to the original method of copying parts one at a time. These markings were unified during the re-engraving process to ensure the highest quality honoring the original intentions of the composer.

Journey of the Juno

In July of 2016, the NASA space probe Juno completed a 5 year journey to Jupiter. The concert piece Journey of the Juno is named for this event. It is a mysterious piece in C minor intended to convey the vastness of outer space. Composer Joseph Compello consistently delivers music that both intrigues students and contains many teachable moments.

Journey of the Magi - Traditional

Journey of the Magi is a fantastical piece based on the well-known Christmas carol We Three Kings of Orient Are. After an introduction reflecting the nobility and Eastern origins of the travelers, there are three contrasting settings of the carol's verse and two of the chorus. The royal caravan then fades in to the distance as the three Kings continue their journey and search.
