Prepare for the fright of a lifetime as MonsterThrash takes you to the murky depths of the ocean where all sorts of unsavoury creatures lurk, waiting to devour you! From Ancient Greek mythology, Hydra a Serpentine creature with many heads guards the underworld. You can try and chop its head off but two will grow back! Be sure to escape this first monster quickly as its poisonous breath and blood will kill you instantly! Next up to thrash you are the wickedly enchanting sirens, who aim to seduce you with their looks and mesmerising singing, but will carve you up for their dinner! If you've made it this far... be prepared to face your final threat, The Leviathan! Often described as an Dragon dwelling in the watery abyss. Enormous in size, the Leviathan is said to represent the forces of chaos. When the Leviathan is hungry he sends forth from his mouth a heat so great it makes the water of the deep boil. Only the bravest of sailors can withstand these wicked beasts, if your not up to the MonsterThrash, be prepared to spend the rest of your days in the depths of Davy Jones' Locker!

Musica Festosa (CB) - Jelle Van Giel

Musica Festosa was written as a tribute to cultural arts in Heist-op-den-Berg (B). The title describes the music perfectly. Party! You can see it as a modern march with American drumline influences. The theme is playful and appears in different ways in the composition. Fun to play and to listen to!

Nightglow (CB) - Ben Hollings

The young British composer Ben Hollings found his inspiration for 'Nightglow' during a night out in the open air. The work is inspired by a nocturnal celestial scene in which the scattered stars, comets, galaxies and other astronomical elements create a warm 'nocturnal glow' in the darkness of space. A beautiful slow work for any band!

Nu zijt Wellekome (CB) - Traditionals - Patrick Verhaegen

"Nu zijt wellekome" is a Dutch Christmas carol. Like the well-known Silent Night, it has different versions for Catholics and Protestants. The oldest known version dates from the 17th century, but the song probably originated in the 15th century, based on the 14th-century "Sijs willekomen heirre kerst".

One Way Or Another (CB) - Harry-Harrison-Burke - Kevin Van Giel

This song by American new wave band Blondie comes from their 1978 album 'Parallel Lines'. Kevin Van Giel made a lovely arrangement for band of this hit.

Oz: the Green Wizard (CB) - Filip Ceunen

'Oz: the Green Wizard' is a programmatic concert work that describes the story of The Wizard of Oz in 6 continuous movements. The first part, 'The Cyclone', expresses the whirlwind that lifts up and drags Dorothy's house. Both the thunder of the house and the turbulence of the wind are clearly audible in this part.

Panic Button (CB) - Paul Saggers

Panic Button was commissioned by Bert Van Thienen especially for 2022 World Music Contest in Kerkrade (NL). The composer was given complete freedom musically, however, he was given two conditions. First, it had to be an atypical work, a composition that puts the orchestra in a different perspective than the traditional repertoire and be suitable for both concert and competition stages. Second, it had to give the musicians the opportunity to go completely wild for a while. On the one hand, to shake off any stress and, on the other, to give them energy for the rest of the program. Poet and Peasant - ouverture (CB) - Franz Von Suppé - Bert Van Thienen

Franz von Supp gained world fame with the overture of Poet and Peasant (1846). The work is one of the most popular works of the light classical repertoire. 'Poet and Peasant' was composed not for one of his own operettas but as a part of incidental music to a play by a colleague named Karl Elmar.
