A Festival Choral (CB) - Nick Van Elsen

This hymn was written for Festival Brass Band. It takes the band's note names (F - Eb - Bb - As) and incorporates them into a melodic theme that floats through the piece. The harmonic colours are also derived from these notes.

A Mother's Treasure (CB) - Jan De Maeseneer

A Mother's Treasure tells the musical story of the mother who sees her daughter grow up. As a little girl she is playing simple pieces that you will hear back in the trumpet part. Later she is in her teens when she go in search for some challenges, to herself as a musician and as a person. In the last part of the composition she finds peace and enjoys life that her mother has given her.

Abendlied (CB) - Josef Rheinberger - Pierre-Antoine Savoyat

Abendlied (Evening song) is a sacred motet by Josef Rheinberger for a six-part mixed choir. He wrote the first version in 1855 at the age of 15. It is perhaps his most famous choral work, which looks backward to the great sacred music of the Renaissance.

Amadeus (CB) - W. A. Mozart - David Byles

The arrangement is based upon the theme from the 2nd. Movement of Mozart`s clarinet concerto. Originally a slow (Adagio) melody in time, it has been given a bright `pop` rhythm complete with kit percussion.

Aurelia (CB) - Filip Ceunen

The concert march Aurelia was commissioned by Wind band 'Sint-Jorisgilde' from Meerhout-Gestel (B) on the occasion of their 115th anniversary. The march was written in a cinematic style with references to the anthem 'Oh mijn liefste Meerhout' - Oh my dearest town of Meerhout. The name 'Aurelia' is based on the topographical configuration of Meerhout, as it were, which is in the form of a butterfly. Aurelia is the Latin word for (gold) butterfly.

Balkan Sounds is a piece of varying colours and moods that accurately reflects the diverse musical influences of the Balkan melting pot. It is a fertile musical breeding ground of cultural musical ideas - many of which come together in an amalgam of melodic themes, but is a mixture that at its heart is deeply middle European in feel with a bias of Eastern undercurrent as its heartbeat - from the Tartars and Cossacks to the Romanian Gypsies and orthodox Jews.

Black Saturday (CB) - Stijn Aertgeerts

The 'Black Saturday' bushfires were a series of bushfires that ignited or were burning across the Australian state of Victoria on and around Saturday, 7 February 2009 and were Australia's worst ever bush fire disasters. The fires occurred during extreme bushfire-weather conditions and resulted in Australia's highest ever loss of life from a bushfire, 173 people died and 414 were injured as a result of the fires.
