£53.50TURN THE WORLD AROUND (Intermediate Concert Band) - Brown, Michael
Harry Belafonte's masterful song about the interconnection between fire, water, mountain and spirit was performed to much acclaim on the The Muppet Show in 1977. The song, which explains that through understanding we can all "turn the world around," became a favourite of Muppet creator Jim Henson and was performed at his memorial service. Featuring an infectious African-flavored groove in 5/4, this is a unique and effective setting for band.

£94.99Verso il Sole Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)
Since the beginning of mankind people have realized that the warmth and the light of the sun were necessary to develop life on earth - by creating winds in the air, by generating rains through the evaporation of sea water and by allowing plants to grow. The sun creates the dynamism of the chain of life. This is the reason why ancient populations adored the sun as the god of cosmic order as opposed to the god of chaos or night, who generated fear and the necessity of defense. This piece is a tribute to the sun (Verso il Sole) as an existential symbol of life and energy. 0:04:30

£87.95A Tamworth Tapestry (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
A Tamworth Tapestry was commissioned by the Tamworth Wind Band who gave the first performance in Fazeley, Tamworth, on 27 Apr 2024. In composing it I drew on aspects of Tamworth starting with a short malicious outburst to depict the warlike history of the town's Norman castle. From there the music moves into a slow-flowing minor key movement entitled River Tame. The Celtic derivation of the word Tame means dark and slow-moving. The suite ends with a saltarello - Tomsaete. The Tomsaete were an Anglo-Saxon tribe who lived in the valley of the River Tame and remained around Tamworth throughout the duration of the Kingdom of Mercia. There is also a play on words with the band's conductor - Tom Sears. I combined the saltarello with some allusions to various other Tamworth references including Kingsbury Water Park, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Tamworth Pigs and even a reference to the Robin Reliant!Duration: 6.15

£150.00The Perfect Fool, The Ballet from (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Holst, Gustav - Noble, Paul
The music for The Perfect Fool is taken from an opera by the same name, written by English composer Gustav Holst over the period of 1918 to 1922. The opera received its premiere at the Covent Garden Theatre, London on 14 May 1923. This arrangement consists of the three distinct dances: Dance of Spirits of Earth, Dance of Spirits of Water, and Dance of Spirits of Fire. They embody the power, intensity, mystery and sheer beauty that define this piece. This arrangement includes the original celesta and harp parts. However, the celesta may be substituted with piano at the octave, and the vibraphone covers the significant harp solos.

£34.95At the Splash with Sim (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
About 10 minutes walk from where the composer lives, there is a ford in a river. It is called The Splash and is one of his dog, Simba's, favourite places. No day is complete for him without a swim in the Splash, no matter what the weather is like. It is a lovely spot where the water swirls gently although on occasions when the river is in full spate it can rise quickly and become forceful. This piece reflects that, with its fluid motif running throughout. There is some decorative writing for the woodwind but the pace of the music is moderate and the technical demands are therefore easily manageable.

£26.99Out to Sea & The Shark Cage Fugue (from Jaws) (Concert Band - Score only) - Williams, John - Bocook, Jay
Referring to the 1975 blockbuster Jaws, director Steven Spielberg states that John Williams' music "was clearly responsible for half the success of the movie." This suite features two of the signature musical sequences. In "Out to Sea," the trio of shark hunters led by police chief Martin Brody (played by Roy Scheider) heads into open water to find the menacing beast. This is followed by the "Shark Cage Fugue," a classically inspired and sophisticated accompaniment to a tense underwater scene in which Hooper (portrayed by Richard Dreyfuss) comes face-to-face with the great white in an all-too-fragile suspended cage.
