Beginning with a quote from the opening phrase of The Star Spangled Banner, we are taken on a journey westward across the great divide. The melody then descends to the other side of the great divide representing the journey across the country from sea to shining sea. The trio is based on "America, My Country Tis Of Thee," leading to a rousing conclusion.
