This delightful work was composed in April 2023 by Andrew Wainwright as a tribute to Catherine Ramsdale, who was a member of the composer's church in Lewisville, Texas, and who passed away at the age of 88. The music is supposed to be evocative of Catherine's loving and caring spirit. Starting out in rather melancholy mood to reflect the sadness that Catherine is no longer with us in an earthly sense, the music moves into a more sprightly section which reflects her cheerful and positive personality. From the opening fanfare, this piece will put you in the holiday spirit! Joyful World is an adaptation of the familiar Christmas carol Joy to the World. The piece opens with fragments of the familiar carol cleverly woven into a spirited fanfare. This is followed by a rendition featuring a regimental snare part with playful harmonies. In the third section, the meter changes to create a beautiful 6/4 ballad, leading to a hint of the familiar Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee tune before returning to the original melody. The piece ends with a spirited brass flourish.

Lamento was composed in memory of Bjarne Haug Thesen (1957-2023). Bjarne came from Nord-Odal and had his musical base in Mo Skolemusikk and Nord-Odal Hornmusikk. In 1987, he was elected vice-president of the Norwegian Band Ferderation (Norges Musikkorps Forbund - NMF), a position he held until 1990. He was an important contributor to the development of the organization and is remembered for his knowledge, bold thoughts and winning spirit. Bjarne had this gift of delivering stories that fit to the issues that were up for debate, and if things started to get a little heated, these inputs from Bjarne often ensured that the debate got back on track. He was on the editorial board for the book "Norske musikkorps" which was published in 1990, and was also involved in the 100th anniversary of the NMF in 2018. Lamento was premiered on the 13th of December 2023 by Oslo Postorkester conducted by Stina Widn.

This article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights forms the basic idea behind this majestic Symphony of Freedom. In each of the three movements, the composer picks another angle on this universal theme of freedom. In the first 'Cry for Freedom' it's the Dalai Lama of which the composer is a great admirer. The second movement 'Dream of Freedom' takes the photograph of the deceased three-year-old refugee boy Ailan Kurdi on the beach at Bodrum as a basis. The finale 'Freedom Above All' refers, besides a Bruckner quote, to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. This movement should be seen first and foremost as an affirmation of life, faith and hope for a better world.

On 11 March 1879 in the Austrian town of Neumarkt am Wallersee a huge fire broke out in a brewery, setting fire to at least 60 other houses within one hour. Due to poor equipment and a lack of water, nearly the entire city was burned to the ground.Only the church was spared.
