Abendlied (CB) - Josef Rheinberger - Pierre-Antoine Savoyat
Abendlied (Evening song) is a sacred motet by Josef Rheinberger for a six-part mixed choir. He wrote the first version in 1855 at the age of 15. It is perhaps his most famous choral work, which looks backward to the great sacred music of the Renaissance.

Rejoice! is a lateral look at the Advent hymn Veni, Veni Emmanuel (O come, o come Emmanuel). The hymn is a synthesis of the great 'O' Antiphons that are used for Vespers during the octave before Christmas (Dec. 17-23 Dec). These Antiphons are of ancient origin, dating back to at least the ninth century but the hymn itself is much more recent, first appearing in the 18th century in the Psalteriolum Cantionum Catholicarum (Cologne 1710). This arrangement focuses on the 'Rejoice' motif and sets it in a rhythmic, folk-like setting, full of energy and verve.Duration: 3.30

Lo! He Comes with Clouds Descending is a hymn with a text by John Cennick (1718-1755) and Charles Wesley (1707-1788). Most commonly sung at Advent, the hymn derives its theological content from the Book of Revelation relating imagery of the Day of Judgment. Considered one of the Great Four Anglican Hymns in the 19th century, it is most commonly sung to the tune Helmsley, first published in 1763.
