How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Clark, Larry

Of all the Dr. Seuss stories, possibly none is more delightfully charming than the take on that mean old man who disliked Christmas so much that he stole all the presents, the toys and the Christmas trees. As should befall any villain, he is transformed and his heart "grew three times its size." This is a superior holiday medley with two great songs and wonderful incidental music. Seasonally spectacular! Duration: 5.00

From Russia with Love Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

A characteristic of many Russian folksongs is the emotion that they contain - sometimes exceptionally fierce, sometimes, in contrast, resigned and melancholic. This makes the music captivating and gives it its special, distinctive atmosphere. The same can also be said for From Russia with Love, in which Roland Kernen has made use of three beautiful Russian love songs. In the cheerful and stirring Kalinka, the singer tells of a girl whom he fell head over heals in love with, so much so that she is always on his mind. Lutshje Bulo is the story of a man who wants to break up with his girlfriend and in Otschi Tschornije attention is focused on a dangerous woman who can seduce many men with her piercing black eyes. 0:07:20

SIROCCO (Concert Band) - Graham, Peter

A Sirocco is a wind that originates in the Sahara and sweeps across the Mediterranean through North Africa to Southern Europe. Taking this route as his inspiration, Peter Graham has fashioned a tour-de-force for band that features three Mediterranean folk songs. Two of the three movements are well known in their respective countries. Firstly, the fast and furious Tarantella is commonly heard as part of traditional Italian wedding celebrations whilst the Romanza can justifiably lay claim as one of Spain's most enduring melodies, synonymous with the Spanish guitar. The final movement has its roots in traditional Greek dance music, being a mixture of slow and fast versions of the hasapiko. The best-known example of the form is the famous Zorba's Dance, and in the same manner the Sirtakis sedate opening bars soon give way to a frenzy of activity as the entire ensemble whip up their own musical storm

    Castlebay

This fresh new setting of two traditional Scottish folk songs, Will Ye No Come Back Again and Keel Row, was written in honor of its namesake, the Scottish village Castlebay. Composer Gene Milford has crafted a well-scored offering for contest/festival performance that is reminiscent of English-style band pieces. After the striking opening, the piece moves to the more fiddle-like Keel Row in a lilting 6/8. All of the sections of the ensemble get to shine and the band will sound formidable with this piece.

A Coventry Rhapsody (Symphonic Wind Band) Karl Whelan

VIEW SCORE PDF A Coventry Rhapsody is based on The Coventry Carol, which dates back to the 16th century and is one of three songs from a nativity play entitled Pageant of the Shearman and Tailors which was traditionally performed in Coventry. The carol itself depicts the Massacre of the Innocents in the nativity narrative from the Gospel of Matthew, in which King Herod, orders the execution of all baby boys under the age of two in the vicinity of Bethlehem. Snippets of the carol can be heard throughout the work in different guises. It is not until the final section that we hear the carol in all its glory. Illuminate - Wind Band (Andrew Wainwright)

Written for the Chicago Staff Band's tour of England in 2015, this exhilarating work was premiered at The Salvation Army's Boundless International Congress at London's O2 Arena to an audience of 20,000 people. It has since been arranged here for wind band. The piece is structured as a through-composed triptych, weaving together the popularcontemporary worship songs Shine on Us (Michael W. Smith) and Speak, O Lord (Keith and Kristin Getty) with the historic Salvationist anthem The World for God (Evangeline Booth) to explore themes of light, guidance, and mission. The work opens with energy and rhythmic drive, centering on Shine on Us. A stark contrast follows in the meditative middle section. Here, the music explores the contemplative depths of Speak, O Lord, featuring solo horn. The final section introduces a nostalgic and stirring reference to General Evangeline Booth's classic hymn, The World for God. The finale juxtaposes all three themes. As the disparate melodies intertwine and layer upon one another, the music builds to a triumphant climax - a representation of 'illumination' that celebrates a shared faith across generations.
