Burlesco Romantico - Menno Bosgra
The colourful, compelling starting theme forms the leitmotiv throughout this piece. It is followed by a very rhythmical part with a catchy melody that is literally and figuratively music to the ear. A slow, almost meditative part follows with a beautiful alto saxophone solo that leads to an impressive chorale. The fast sections are once more repeated towards the end, but in another form. A fantastic composition by Menno Bosgra!

In Louis Armstrong Medley, Naohiro Iwai has beautifully arranged Armstrong's unmistakable version of the Russian folk song, Dark Eyes (1954).
