To mark the 30th anniversary of Mosaici Bizantini Franco Cesarini decided to publish this revised version. He added a few instruments to the instrumentation and completely revised the notation. The work is now available in large-sized full score and exclusively from the composer's publishing house.For this grand work, Franco Cesarini was inspired by three byzantine mosaics, which can be seen in churches in Venice and Palermo. These days, many concert bands celebrate their centenary - this provided a good reason to compose the Centennial Celebration. This work has a festive, harmonious and optimistic vibe. A joyful introduction is followed by a lyrical passage with an enticing melody, after which the same theme can be heard in a pop style variation. Next is a kind of trio with a melody that will linger in your mind. Lively sounds bring us back to the lyrical main theme once more, but this time exuberant, like a pop ballad. Finally, we hear the festive sounds of the introduction again, now as a lustrous conclusion.

Songs from the Lowlands is a collection of songs from the 16th and 17th centuries from my native country The Netherlands, formerly known as The Low Countries. They are, by turns, patriotic songs by Adriaen Valerius from the time when our country was occupied by Spain, naughty love songs and a drinking song, Peeckel-Haringh. Songs from the Lowlands was written for the farewell concert of my dear friend Jim Yarnell, who has been the director of bands at The American School of The Hague for four decades. Jim conducted the premire at his final concert, April 8, 2022, and now enjoys a well-deserved retirement. Songs from the Lowlands can be performed instrumental or with choir (SATB).

This work was commissioned by the Musikverein Prechtal e. V. (Germany) for its 100th anniversary in the year of 2021. The composition opens with a powerful rhythmic motif, which soon develops into the main theme of this brisk overture. The unwavering, joyful melodies and a positive atmosphere give the work a high-spirited energy. The strong pulse has the music firmly in its grasp and only quietens gradually in a pensive middle movement that seems to emanate from another world. This atmospheric passage can evoke dreamy thoughts and a variety of visions. But then the liveliness of the previous motifs returns, to take us back to the vivacious here and now, full of optimism and determination for the hundred years to come. On to a wonderful future!

The town of Zevenhuizen (Seven Houses) in the Dutch province of Groningen conceived the idea to assemble 777 musicians for an experimental open air concert. Within that context, Jacob de Haan was commissioned to write a special composition for the local music society Concordia on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary. The full number of musicians could not be realized entirely, but the performance was a great happening nonetheless. Now, the music has been published in a compilation, with the most appealing melodies in a varying style of rock music and ballads. The compelling closing theme of Music Xperience will linger in the minds of many listeners and players long after the concert has ended.

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809 - 1847) composed the music for William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream at two different times. In 1826, at the age of 16, he wrote a concert overture (Op. 21). Sixteen years later, in 1842, he composed the incidental music (opus 61) for King Frederick William IV of Prussia, in which he incorporated the existing overture. The overture premiered in Stettin (then in Prussia, now Szczecin, Poland) on February 20, 1827, conducted by Carl Loewe. Mendelssohn had to travel 80 miles through a raging snowstorm to get to the concert, which became his first public appearance. The interlude between the 4th and 5th acts of the incidental music is the famous Wedding March, Mendelssohn's most popular and most performed work.

Sixteen years later, in 1842, he composed the incidental music (opus 61) for King Frederick William IV of Prussia, in which he incorporated the existing overture. The overture premiered in Stettin (then in Prussia, now Szczecin, Poland) on February 20, 1827, conducted by Carl Loewe. Mendelssohn had to travel 80 miles through a raging snowstorm to get to the concert, which became his first public appearance. The first British performance of the overture was conducted by Mendelssohn himself on June 24, 1829, at the Argyll Rooms in London. After the concert, Thomas Attwood was given the score of the overture for safekeeping, but left it in a taxi and was never found. Mendelssohn later rewrote the overture entirely from memory.

In 2013 the short film 1805 A Town's Tale was released, produced by Refos Film, with music by Otto M. Schwarz. A fateful autumn day in the year 1805: the morning mists hang heavy over the sprawling field near Drnstein. The captain's tent and some smaller tents are seemingly lifeless in their deep slumber. In dawn's half-light, the fires now only steam and barely glow. A figure sneaks past the main tent. This is Phillipe, a soldier of Napoleon's troops, leaving the camp early to warn Mina, his lover, and the other inhabitants of the town of Krems of the planned raid ... The Symphonic Suite is a compilation of various main themes from the soundtrack. In addition to this version, there is also a larger edition in which the orchestra can play 'live' to the film with a click track.
